We stayed here back in March, and couldn't fault the place! After a long day driving in the wind and rain around the North of the island, we decided very last minute that we fancied a B&B for the night (rather than pitching our tent...), and we were so glad we did. We arrived late afternoon and thankfully there was... More

We had room 1 at this excellent Band B .It has about 4 rooms, including one that is self catering. This is a very quiet place away from towns. Its great if you wish to immerse yourself in the real country feel of the Isle of Skye. There are good walks available and the hosts run a very warm, welcoming establishment. There are good spaces inside... We stayed at Carters Rest for four nights in early May and have nothing but praise for it. It was very scenic , welcoming and clean. It was quiet and comfortable and our hosts, Julie and Steve, were really good hosts and also, really good cooks. Breakfasts were excellent and the small dining area with windows overlooking beautiful scenery with... More

We visited a couple of weeks ago and had the most amazing time. Julie and Steve made us feel so welcome and so helpful when advising on things to across the island. They provided a delicious and generous breakfast every day which set us up for the day. We were also offered maps to help us round the island and... More

We stayed with Julie and Steve from Saturday to Monday of this week. What a fantastic experience of genuine first class hospitality we received and we cannot wait to return. We had room 1 which had a lovely big comfy bed with flat screen TV and coffee and tea making facilities. The ensuite with shower and a big bath (essential... More

Steve and Julie are the perfect hosts in this wonderful B&B tucked in a remote part of the West Isle of Skye. Home from home, wonderful breakfast, modern facilities and a perfect view. Thank you from the Wilsons

I discovered Carters Rest from someone else's posted online itinerary. Lovely hosts Steve and Julie have thought of everything: generous, scrumptious breakfasts (think freshly-cut fruit salad with >10 fruits & crazy-tasty homemade granola), cozy beds, a great shower, and *so* much more. I'm so thankful to have chosen to stay, as it was the highlight of our two-week trip. DO... More

We had been booked into the Seagulls Nest which is the self contained flat for just one night. Accommodation was excellent. Lovely bathroom, most comfortable bed and pillows anywhere we've stayed in a very long time. Kitchen/ sitting room had everything we would have needed for a longer stay. Appreciated small touches like the fresh flowers in the bedroom. Friendly... More

As advertised, quite remote. But once we found it, we were thrilled. Julie and Steve are great hosts. Room was quite nice with a wonderful bed! Breakfast was great - easily the best fruit bowl we had on our trip to Scotland - Julie is a stickler for fresh fruit. They recommended and made dinner reservations for us well ahead... More

We had a really lovely stay at Carter's Rest. The b&b is, as the materials say, "further than you think!"--just up the hill from the coast, in the northwest lobe of the island, a 15-minute drive along a single-lane road from the nearest town--a beautiful, desolate drive (populated by sheep and cows that occasionally wander into the road). Julie and... More
