It was our first visit to The Braes and what struck us was first was the wonderful views and then the warm welcome we received from Teresa and Philipe. As hosts they were welcoming and professional without being intrusive. We especially appreciated the suggestions Philipe had for ways to enjoy the area to the full. We were fortunate enough to... more

Hi, Anne & David. Thanks for your kind feedback. We agree wholeheartedly about the black pudding - we have tried many different types but always go back the one from our local butcher, John MacMillan in Fort William. It is well-loved by black pudding aficionados and first-timers alike! Looking forward to welcoming you back. T&P

We have just come back from a 3 night stay at the Braes, we were welcomed by Phillipe & Teresa who provided us with a top notch breakfast a lovely clean room & some great advice on where to go in the area. The only (i'm going to say downside but only when its raining !!) downside is the nearest... more

Hi, L,L,M & K. Thanks for the lovely comments, both here on TripAdvisor and in our Guest Book. Hope the early start made the difference and you had a good trip home? We are 10-15 minutes walk out of the village, but we are always happy to give our guests a lift down to the village. I believe Philippe did...

My father and I stayed at The Braes between Christmas and New Year 2009. The purpose of our visit was mainly to spend time with my Mother who lives in Fort William, and The Braes is perfectly situated just a short distance from all the main routes for the highlands and beyond. The house itself is extremely homely and welcoming,... more

We have just returned from Braes Guest House after spending weekend there and would highly recommend it to anyone dreaming about perfect guest house! Phillipe and Teresa are very lovely and friendly hosts, without being intrusive. They made their guest house truly welcoming and charming place. The room we had - a double size bed with ensuite and lovely mountain... more

The Braes styles itself a "guesthouse". This couldn't be more appropriate - I felt exactly like a guest in a house and was treated like one of the family. Teresa and Philippe, apart from being an incredibly charming couple, are as friendly or as "leave you alone" as you want them to be. In our case, we struck up a... more

We spent a night at the Braes in early May and wished we could have stayed longer. The owners are the perfect hosts, friendly, but not intrusive. We had dinner in the dining room and were extremely grateful we did. The food is excellent and both my partner and myself pride ourselves on being foodies. Our room was spotlessly clean... more

I have just returned from my third visit to The Braes and enjoyed it even more than before. Not only did Phil & Teresa, the owners, excel themselves as usual with their friendly service but the visit was enhanced by the fellow guests. The dining area and lounge at The Braes is warm and welcoming and encourages all the guests... more

Our three day winter break at The Braes between Christmas and New Year was extremely pleasant from the moment we stepped out of the car. A personal and friendly warm welcome was extended allowing us to immediately feel at ease while admiring the wonderful views. My initial reluctancy to stay in a B&B was soon washed away, the standards in... more

We only stayed here for one night, but I wish we could have stayed longer. The directions from the website were fantastic, and we had no trouble finding it - the views from the front of the house are amazing. Our room was perfect, with a really comfy bed - great for our nights stay. We had phoned the day... more
