We just spent a lovely week in the self-contained Old Smiddy - just behind Smiddy House which contains Russell’s restaurant and the B&B accommodation. The cottage is a delight & beautifully furnished with a master bedroom on the ground level and 2 x twin sleeping areas in the upper floor, accessed by spiral stairs. The bathroom is ample and well-appointed... more

We visited Smiddy House in Jan 09 for 1 night, and chose it because of the AA rosette restaurant and the good reviews, travelling with our parents and 10 year old daughter seven people in total. Smiddy house and Russels was an excellent choice. The service was excellent, the food was even better both at dinner and breakfast, and the... more

Although Patsy and I stayed at Smiddy House in January 2008, mine hosts, Glen and Robert were unable to accommodate us this time around as our party had expanded to 15 and they simply didn't have sufficient rooms available! [I hasten to add our numbers grew partly as a result of us regaling friends and relatives alike with stories of... more

I wish I remember how I found Smiddy House when we were planning our Scottish Holiday so I could use that same method every time. We were lucky enough to stay a week at the Smiddy Guest House and use the Spean Bridge location as a center for day trips in the Highlands. We spent one night at the B&B... more

Stayed here for 2 nights before and after climbing Ben Nevis as we wanted to be able to make an early start and have somewhere comfortable to come back to. Smiddy House was ideal for this - short drive to Ben Nevis and a very comfortable relaxing ambience. After the climb we particularly appreciated the well-appointed ensuite shower room with... more

We did not stay here but we visited the restaurant for the final night of our Honeymoon. What a fabulous experience. They need'nt have seated us as we just popped in on the off chance without a booking, but they did and were very hospitable. A lovely warm atmosphere, very relaxing, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious! My husband... more

Stayed one night in June 2008. Charming B&B. Greeted and escorted to room by owner upon arrival, despite them being busy with dinner service. Booked two rooms. We had the family room which had a queen bed and a single bed. Beautifully furnished. Soft comforters. Very clean. Fresh flowers and live plants in room. Bathroom was small but very cute... more

This was our 2nd visit to the Smiddy House Guest House, and yet again absolutely fantastic and well worth the 6 hour drive! We ended up here by accident in 2006 after having booked a lodge nearby for our honeymoon, and needed somewhere to stay for a night before travelling home (that accomodation seriously was not up to scratch!!) but... more
