Perfect place to stay whilst on a business trip in the area. Very welcoming staff, Very quick to offer tea and cakes when I arrived, some of the best food I've had when on a work trip in Scotland and a comfortable bed. I will be staying again when I'm back in the area again, I would even stay if... More

I can't believe a previous reviewer (IOMCATS) thought the portions were small! How much do you eat? We have big appetites and found there to be more than sufficient to eat for both dinner and breakfast. We arrived too late for afternoon tea - just as well really!

Only visited the restaurant with friends, the staff were very pleasant and made us feel welcome. The food and the drinks were expensive so only had one drink each, 2 of them being soft drinks. The portions were very small but the food was good (that is why I rated this 4), came out feeling hungry. Disappointed.

We have stayed here several times, more often on our journey north between our home in Wales and our other home in the Western Isles. This year we stayed on our return journey and it was just as lovely as always. The welcome is great, as are the meals and the range of drinks. My husband has a speciality nightcap... More

Four of us stayed for 2 nights at The Old Pines at the beginning of this week and really enjoyed our stay at this hotel situated very close to the Commando Memorial. The hotel is like a big log cabin which seems very appropriate given its position surrounded by trees. The views of the Nevis range from the hotel are... More

What can we say... brilliant service & perfect location. My family & I arrived to a very warm welcome from Ken on 2nd Feb 14 after a long drive from Carlisle. This was our second visit to Old Pines & again it was perfect. Our reason for visiting was my fiance & I were getting Married at Caig Waterfall which... More

Excellent. Lovely setting, contemporary, comfortable but elegant decor. Delicious food and excellent service. And 'Gary Linnekar's younger brother ' lookalike looking after you, what more could you ask! Definately recommend it for an evening out.

We were greeted at the train station by one of the owner's relatives who drove us to the hotel, where an exceptionally tasty tea service was beautifully laid out for us - complete with scones/jam/cream, fruit bread and shortbread. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Every meal was excellent - fantastic choices of vegetarian fare as well as standard meat... More

Having completed my first day of the Great Glen Way, I was picked up within a few minutes of letting them know I'd arrived. The room was great and the view was excellent. I asked if there was anywhere else to eat in the area (staying in hotels a lot, I generally try to eat in a different location to... More
