We were met by the owner when we arrived who was very warm and welcoming. He was quick to offer us tea upon our arrival. The Old Pines certainly is situated in a beautiful peaceful country setting with fabulous views. A resident rooster and some hens add a touch of nostalgia especially when morning breaks. The hotel is not large... More

We stayed here on our way back home from Skye. What a wonderful choice, the best word to describe the atmosphere at Old Pines hotel is 'Snuggly' , from the warm welcome from the hosts to the cosy rooms and fabulous food ; you feel wrapped in warmth and treated as special. Will recommend this hotel to family and friends.... More

very pleasant dining area which looks out on beautiful scenery and two ten year olds were kept amused by the hens which strut around,,,,staff make you feel very welcome and the menu is very good,,,excellent food cooked extremely well and served within a reasonable time although is a bit pricy compared to other places in the area.

A lovely small hotel in a very picturesque area. We stayed for 2 nights in. August and really wished we had been there for longer. The building is one storey, wood and glass, with a 1970s feel. It is set in a garden with pine trees, flowers, chickens and goats. There is also a small childrens play area. The views... More

The location near the Commando Memorial was very impressive with superb views and walks nearby. The log cabin building was cosy and the cream tea welcome was very much appreciated. The room was very comfortable and the overall impressive was of a relaxing oasis. We ate in the restaurant and were delighted with the quality of the cuisine and the... More

This beautiful and cozy inn has a magnificent view of Ben Nevis and some of the best food we experienced in Scotland. We were sad to have only one night in this delightful place as we biked through the Highlands. I can imagine that in the winter this place is a skier's paradise.

I booked this place as everything was sold out in Fort Augustus so have to make a detour. However, everyone was very pleased with the choice - we simply cannot believe something as lovely as this can be found in such a remote place. The restaurant is definitely the highlight - amazing mountain view from almost every angle of the... More

Perfect place to stay whilst on a business trip in the area. Very welcoming staff, Very quick to offer tea and cakes when I arrived, some of the best food I've had when on a work trip in Scotland and a comfortable bed. I will be staying again when I'm back in the area again, I would even stay if... More

I can't believe a previous reviewer (IOMCATS) thought the portions were small! How much do you eat? We have big appetites and found there to be more than sufficient to eat for both dinner and breakfast. We arrived too late for afternoon tea - just as well really!
