We holiday regularly at nearby Banavie and never fail to visit the Old Pines for dinner. The welcome is warm, the setting magnificent with views across to the Nevis range of mountains, and the atmosphere very relaxed in the cosy lounge area and adjacent restaurant. The food, although quite simple, is always a delight. The venison is a signature dish... More

Another super visit to a truly lovely hotel. Once again, my family and I were given a warm welcome. Tea and scones on arrival then a beautiful meal at night. The fresh fruit salad at breakfast was so fresh and packed full of a wide variety of fruits and berries. Yum! The surrounding area is outstanding and there are plenty... More

A five-star experience with individuality and charm. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel welcome in a most genuine and unobtrusive way. Delicious home-made scones on arrival were followed by the most exquisite food and wine for dinner, all locally-sourced, home-made and served by lovely staff. Breakfast the following morning was just as special and the hosts... More

As we walked the GGW from north to south this was our penultimate stop. Owners picked us up from Gairlochy with our dog. We were given a family room to give us more space for dog and luggage. Dog was not allowed in the lounge but that did not cause us any problems. Food excellent as is the service. Packed... More

We stayed in this comfortable little Hotel in Spean Bridge the night before taking the Jacobite train ride in Northwestern Scotland. The hotel is most comfortable and the manager is most accommodating. The food in the restaurant was excellent. A very fine evening.

The Old Pines is a hidden gem. The hospitality is something to be experienced. Home made scones/fruit cake and a delicious cup of tea/coffee to welcome you and then a superb dinner in the evening. The owners have everything down to a fine art. The relaxed atmosphere and comfortable surroundings, with an abundance of things to see and do on... More

We stayed at the Old Pines for a weekend as it was highly recommended by some friends who regularly stay there. We were not disappointed! It was perfectly located for Ben Nevis ( 10 minutes drive) and within stunning natural surroundings, away from traffic and noise. The hotel is very small and cosy, the owners are very welcoming and helpful.... More

Just want to add my own plaudits for this wonderful wee place which is situated a short distance from the Commando Memorial and within easy distance of Aonach Mor. When you arrive, you may be greeted by the unique welcoming party which consists of three noisy but harmless geese. Comfortable rooms, beautifully decorated, each named after the flower associated with... More

Unprepossessing exterior, hiding a little, pine-clan slightly sauna-like cosy gem of a place inside. Concur with everything its other fans here have written but just to rave a bit more about the food! Best we had on our short visit to this part of Scotland. Dinner the best I've eaten all year (and I do get out occasionally).
