stopped off to break the train journey between Mallaig and Glasgow. Very comfortable room, perfect host. The Lodge is an interesting building, well furnished and has an interesting collection of paintings. All geared up for the early train departure for Glasgow and just a few minutes walk from the station. Will certainly be returning.

"An extremely welcoming and hospitable host and hostess ensured our stay was everything we hoped it to be. The lodge has been sympathetically restored to its apparent former glory by Glen and Suzanne - very evidently a labour of love. Food (breakfast) was superb - locally resourced produce helped make this a truly Scottish feast with choices to suit any... More

Glen was outside the front of the home when we arrived welcoming 'his friends from North Carolina!' He immediately told us about the Commando Memorial and the path he had helped build. We walked it before dinner and immediately fell in love with the mountains, black faced sheep, High Bridge. The Lodge was beautifully decorated, the breakfast was delicious plus!... More

I stayed here for one night on the way from Inverness to Oban. The owners were so welcoming and after their welcome tour, I actually felt like I was staying with a family member! The room was great as was the ensuite bathroom. Breakfast in the morning ensured I was completely fuelled up for the rest of the day. Good... More

We self catered in River House which is a totally self contained wing of Spean Lodge. After being greeted by our welcoming owners we were taken on a tour of the 2 storey apartment and Glen explained everything to us. River House is very spacious and comfortable, with high ceilings and antique furniture. The Master Bedroom with en-suite is a... More

This was the best stay we have ever had in Scotland! Although we've been already several times in that magnificent country. There is no hotel or b&b that can tip on the hospitality en kindness of Suzanne and Glen! We even had the opportunity to do some rugby drills on the estate :-) Thank you for this amazing journey! We... More

We stayed at Spean lodge as part of our 3 peaks challenge trip. The lodge is located conveniently for Ben Nevis and the surrounding area. We were warmly welcomed by Glen who was very helpful with his local knowledge and tips for our climb. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast cooked by Suzanne was delicious. Fantastic place which we... More

The Lodge is true Scottish hospitality steeped in Victorian history and sprinkled with great local knowledge. Our rooms were so comfortable and yet they retained an air of a time gone by. The guest living room was filled with all sorts of information - excerpts from a diary from 100 years ago, menus from local restaurants, tour guides etc. A... More
