Stayed one night after arriving off the last ferry. Made extremely welcome by very friendly, smiley hosts. My room was really comfortable and the shower was powerful and hot - could have stayed in there all night. Had a fantastic sleep. I only had a continental breakfast, however the full Scottish looked very substantial and others said it was lovely.... More

The Merchants House is a must if you're staying in Cairnryan. Me and my wife stayed over the evening before catching the Stena Line ferry to Belfast in August 2013. Fiona and Alan were so accommodating - Fiona's scottish friendliness combined with Alan's Yorkshire sense of humour are a perfect match. They stayed up with us for a few beers... More

A good choice: convenient to the ferry, charming, comfortable, clean, historic - built in 1702, as was the whole village to accommodate the workers on the beautiful parklike (descendents of Braveheart!) Wallace estate that is just down the street. Dinner and breakfast were delicious; Fiona and Alan are excellent hosts. This inn is highly recommended.
