Stayed here night of Sunday, 9 June after ferry crossing from Larne. Did not arrive until 10pm and we were offered upgrade to suite which we took. We were quite private with our own large hallway, lovely sitting room as well as bedroom and shower room. Check-in (and check-out) quick, efficient, friendly and helpful as was whole experience here. We... More

Lovely spacious and comfortable room, spotlessly clean. The room had everything we could have asked for even down to decaf coffee sachets. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Above all that though, I would go back for the breakfast alone - it was better than the renowned Gleneagles, yes seriously.

Formerly a canteen for troops passing through the area by train during WWII, this hotel has received a dramatic makeover. It is less than half a mile from the ferries to Larne, Ireland and a great place to spend the night before your departure. We were warmly greeted by the proprietor who gave us lots of information about the area... More

A welcoming combination of 4 Star Hotel standard rooms, with the best of friendly Guest House Service, Rhins of Galloway is thoroughly recommended. Sadly I had to leave in the early morning to catch a ferry to Belfast (which the Hotel is ideally situated for), but the owner thoughtfully leaves a coolbox with a packed breakfast outside your room ready... If you are planning a visit to the Stranraer area and the Rhins of Galloway is within your budget, do not hesitate - just book it. My wife and I have just spent 3 nights there and had a wonderful time. Rooms are spotlessly clean, breakfasts superb and you would be hard pushed to find more accommodating owners than John... More

We arrived after 9pm having driven from Heathrow after arriving from Canada. Everything was lovely with the owners being very helpful with luggage for 2 very tired travellers. Our room was a really good size with lots of room to spread out. The breakfast the next morning was very good and fresh cooked. We would recommend staying here especially for... More

Could not fault the B & B, they try to think of everything, fresh milk in a flask for tea and coffee in the room, scissors to cut the ends of the coffee satches, cloth napkins on the table and face cloth in bathroom. Breakfast cooked to order and excellent, evening meals cooked fresh, and plentiful at a very good... More

I stayed at the B&B for several nights whilst working in Stranraer on business. The rooms are very well appointed, comfortable and spacious. Very tasteful decor, with tea / coffee, biscuits and fresh milk all catered for. The breakfast was cooked fresh when ordered and really set you up for the day. The owners of the B&B also provide light... More
