Stayed one night; easy to find (100 yards off A26 very close to motorway junction)); free parking; interesting host (still walking competitively in his late 70s); comfortable bed; excellent breakfast (a bargain at £5); good value room at £30. It met my needs extremely well (visiting my mum in nearby care home). I was not disturbed by traffic noise (see... More

I stay at the stables quite often as I know exactly what I will get. A very clean and comfortable room with lots of nice touches and a good breakfast. The owners are very friendly and although they have downsized from the extra block of rooms to just the house there were no complaints. Very easy to find with some... More

As we approached The Stables, we were impressed by the beautiful (and huge) front yard and beautiful home. When the host arrived (the son of the owners - who were on vacation), he was very nice. He showed us the room which was adequate. The entire place had a very dormitory or "old folks home" kind of feeling about it.... More

I stayed here with my boyfriend while we were flat hunting in the area in july 2005. It's a small B&B (on the main road to Carrickfergus), with only a few rooms so it's essential to book, but you could be lucky and grab one if it's quiet! the room we stayed in was one of 2 in a small... More
