Business trip to the NEC - convenient and a far more worthwhile experience than staying in one of the many (and far more expensive) hotels around the airport and NEC. The bedroom was somewhat dated - separate standing wooden wardrobe, fibreglass/plastic panelled bath - all very 70's ....though was comfortable enough and nothing really wrong with the room. The food... More

Had a comfortable stay at the Grimstock. The staff were helpful and friendly and their attention to detail in the restaurant was excellent. Both the evening meal and breakfast were of a very good standard.

I first stayed here in 2000 when i worked for another employer, I don't think any upgrades or improvements have been made since! From a positive side the main reception and waiting staff are superb and have stayed the same so the employer must be looking after them well! Sadly I cannot say them same about the rooms. The room... More

Staff are very friendly and without them this hotel wouldn't be "average". Decor is really tired; but rooms are clean. Bed is too soft. My husband and I roll together! Dinner was mediocre-the chef is trying hard but not succeeding. We were given a goats cheese amuse Bouche - a bit odd as an amuse Bouche and mine was served... More

Not great conference facilities because no wifi in conference room. Nice clean rooms. Bedrooms Slightly dated decor but very comfortable. Lovely breakfast. Catered for gluten free. Friendly staff. Good value.

We stayed for one night on our way to London. When we had arrived they had stopped serving food in the restaurant by 9pm, so we had to contend with a sandwich. Although the room was ok, it was unfortunately situated above the hotel bar that had music playing until 2am when I phoned reception to ask them to turn... More

The staff made this event for me and all were friendly and exceptionally helpful. The hotel is slightly dated but not tired. The room was clean and comfortable and good value. Would have stayed for dinner there but an wedding this Saturday was a little too noisy due to some very excited youngsters. Nice breakfast and nice surroundings.

Shocked at the prices quoted by Premier Inn etc, we tried the Grimstock again and found their prices have come back to a sensible level. Not cheap but perfectly acceptable for the proximity to the NEC - only a 10 minute drive away. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, nice and quiet location so a good sleep. Good bar and the chef... More

I attended a christening party at The Grimstock on the 14th September and was totally amazed at how lovely the hotel and it's surroundings were. I've lived in the West Midlands for many years and had not heard of this venue. What a well kept secret!! This understated hotel was run so efficiently with friendly, attentive but unobtrusive staff, it... More

This hotel is brilliant. Located very close to M5/M6/M42 road links and within easy reach of Brum etc you wouldn't believe just how quiet and peaceful this place is. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The bar/lounge area is characterful and they serve a cracking pint of San Miguel. The food in the restaurant is very, very good and... More
