I stayed there last night, the lady on the front desk was very friendly however she seemed to be the only person working in the hotel.. the room was nice.. reminded me of my grandmother's bedroom, not forgetting it was cold, very cold.. no heating however the biscuits made up it for. For what it's worth.. I've never stayed in... More

Didn't stay at the hotel, just popped in for quick lunch. Lady who served us was very friendly and efficient. Food arrived quickly, was freshly cooked and good size portions. Excellent value for money.

We stayed a night as we were attending a concert in the cathedral, which wide could see from our room. We received a very warm welcome from Mei and all staff were friendly. It's quirky interesting place. Having read some of the other reviews I don't know what people expect from a 2 star hotel. I would suggest that if... More

We stopped for lunch at the Gordon whilst walking about Rochester for the day. The feeling of the dining room is extremely old and I dare say that the wooden panels on the walls are late 19th century as are the paintings on the wall. And the could do with some restoring! The carpet and rest of the restaurant, including cutlery,... More

Four of us arrived at the hotel on Tuesday afternoon where we were warmly welcomed. I immediately took to the place. Yes, it could do with a bit of a face lift but couldn't we all? I really enjoyed my stay - I slept like a log and if I go to Rochester again my first port of call would... More

This hotel is the tattiest shabbiest hotel we have ever stayed in and we go away a lot! We only stayed for one night so didn't have time to go elsewhere unfortunately. This is nothing that I can say that is complimentary about this hotel, I could write pages about the bad things but don't feel it necessary as it's... More

Tried the young chefs specials of Wild Boar ragu, followed by mango ice for pudding. Really yummy and perfect autumnal food. Window seats overlooking the historic High Street and Rochester Cathedral. Good food

Quirky old hotel. It is a little like being in a weird fawlty towers episode. The staff are very friendly and get everywhere. I say this as we eat down the road at the Thai. The same staff. owned by same lady, who sat and chatted with us until 1am. It looks dirty and messy and could put people off.... More

We stay there recently and enjoyed it so much we went back again !!!! The staff were the friendliest we've ever met. Breakfast was delicious. The staff went above and beyond to help us out in a few situations. We will be pre booking this hotel in the years to come. Dennis and Laura :).
