We have just returned from a weeks stay with Alison & Joe at the Lovely Cedar House. We were last there in November 2012, and remembered how fab it was. Well we have to tell you that it is just as wonderful. After a tiring journey from "up norf", we were presented with tea and homemade cakes by Alison. A... More

My husband and I have just returned from a two night stay a Cedar house. What an absolutely first class Bed & Breakfast Alison and Joe run. We were greeted on arrival with a warm welcome and delicious homemade cakes and a pot of tea. Beautiful decor' throughout, immaculately clean, absolutely fantastic room (Temeraire) . I am very fussy and... More

... because I am trying to find where a 6 star award can be given. Alison and Joe are professionals par excellence, they should do a TV series like Alexis Pollizzi does for small hotels telling other B&Bs where they are going wrong. Everything here is superb, from the standard of the decor, through the welcome pack and local knowledge... More

This fine arts and crafts style house provides immaculate accomodation just a fifteen minute stroll above the town.A large airy room full of those extra touches that add up to give you more than a mere hotel ever could, together with a delicious breakfast menu covering all tastes and delightful owners. We were in raptures and already plan to return.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in March. We stayed in the Temeraire room and it was a beautiful large room, lovely decorated and the en suite bathroom was lovely. In the room with the tea and coffee making were home made biscuits and fudge, a lovely touch. The hosts were very welcoming and could not do... More

Visiting Rochester to enable my husband to have a walk down memory lane, we stayed in the Temeraire room at Cedar Lodge and were delighted with our choice. The room was very spacious, beautifully appointed and immaculately presented. Thoughtful extras - homemade biscuits and fudge, and a range of quality toiletries . The bed was very comfortable with high quality... More

I chose this B & B based on the reviews on this site and was not disappointed. The delightful house is set in a lovely part of the town with an elegant cedar tree in the front garden. My single room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts are excellent and the proprietors could not do enough for me.... More

We read the reviews before we went and we were not disappointed. We had the room Temeraire, which is a lovely large room at the front. Very comfortable with good bathroom. Breakfast was enjoyable, with some interesting choices,eg Eggs Benedict, Kedgeree. Hosts very helpful and hospitable. Would recommend this B and B.

A wonderful and friendly B&B, lovely and clean room with Egyptian cotton bedding. Fantastic homemade biscuits in the room and a really good and varied choice of breakfast menu. The hosts were extremely helpful. Will definitely be back if and when I have to return for work, or possibly leisure with my wife. Have no hesitation in recommending this B&B.
