Quite an amusing hotel where we've stayed 4 or 5 times. We like the Dickens-inspired paintings which cover the poorly lit staircase walls. Rooms are named after Dickens characters. This time we stayed in the Miss Haversham room which actually had a kettle (last room we stayed in had coffee but no kettle), an ensuite bathroom & a sweet view... More

Went in and turned the light on. Extractor fan came on sounding like a jet fighter leaving the runway. Turned light off. Turned light on above mirror. Didn't work. Shower drips. Mold up the shower curtain. Dust an inch thick on the extractor fan. Flushing the chain meant the toilet made a very strange noise. Not been decorated since the... More

The room looks like it hasn't been decorated or cleaned since the place was built! Bath and toilet were supposed to be white but looked black with all the grime! Hot and cold taps were very temperamental, hairs in the bed and bath! And the cleaner had a disgusting attitude! I wouldn't go back if i was paid to!

We were in room 10 so take heed if you book. It was a small room but basic and liveable. Very small cheap bed and no hair dryer in the entire hotel. This did make getting ready more like a long haul flight and a couple of hair dryers in the hotel would not be too expensive. The window ledge... More

Cheap & nasty! NO BREAKFAST. No hot water 1st night then both H & C taps were same temperature; light over hand basin did not work; no anti-slip mat in bath; entry/exit to/from bath very awkward; much furniture stacked in corridors and around stairs; decoration dismal. NO RECOMMENDED

Definitely my worst hotel experience ever. Even Greece and Spain make these guys look BAD. After phoning in the day to book, I arrived, and experienced a 20 minute check in at a Pub bar. The girl was young and inexperienced, couldnt find our booking, computer down , etc etc. After eventually being shown 3 floors above to our room,... More

Great hotel good comfortable clean rooms friendly staff and perfect location will certainly return again. The night porter who lets you in is a really friendly guy who has worked there for many years I'd say an asset.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this inn for one night. The room was clean and simply but stylishly decorated with a black & white theme, a black chandelier, fresh white paint, and elegant wall paper. That's the good part. Now for the bad, and I will go in chronological order: First, our room was en suite, and the toilet... More

We didn't stay in the hotel, we went in for lunch. The food was very nice and reasonably priced. We have 2 young children. The children's menus are also colouring sheets for the kids to do. As the colouring pencils didn't work on the coated sheets, the staff went out and purchased colouring pens for the kids to use. Outstanding... More
