We arrived at 10 am and our room was not ready. The lady at the reception said check in was a 3pm but it would normally be earlier. When we came back at 2.30pm our room was not ready and the receptionist started referring to the general conditions, and explaining they were understaffed etc. etc. I only asked why are... More

Chose this hotel for the sea view and was not disappointed. The hotel is slightly tired in places, in particular the stairs and landings ( please be aware there is no lift in this hotel and therefore somewhat narrow stairs are to be negotiated with cases - no problem for us who are fit and well but could foresee some... My husband and I stayed at this Hotel for a couple of nights to celebrate our anniversary. We chose this Hotel purely by chance and what a find. We stayed in one of the Double Bed Sea View Rooms. It was lovely with a delightful view of the Bay. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed was huge.... More

Spent 3 nights in 2 different rooms and enjoyed every minute. Arrived late and were well received. The breakfast is scrumptious, the bar well stocked. We were part of a party of 20 celebrating a 50th birthday. We understand that it has fairly recently been renovated having been taken over by a local brewery. Everything is very pleasantly presented and there is no feeling of "old, tired English seaside" about it. Our room which had a great sea view and a share of large balcony.... More

Royal Albion has very friendly staff - front desk, breakfast wait staff, dinner, lounge - they're all friendly. Great view of the wide beach from the seaside rooms. An easy walk to the train station and the High Street. If you have trouble with stairs ask for a first floor room- no elevator.
