We stayed for one night and were treated so personally, it was a real pleasure. The staff were so friendly and attentive and the afternoon tea lovely with fresh scones. Our room was fantastic and the views were to die for. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Bleak House for my cousins wedding on Saturday 21st February, we booked all 5 rooms and couldn't have been happier. All rooms were beautiful and so different. The staff went above and beyond to help us with everything, we sat having a drink downstairs when we got in at midnight In Front of a beautiful open fire,... More

Stayed here on a Saturday evening. We were attending a family wedding locally and therefore we booked all the rooms in the hotel except one. All the rooms are of a very high standard but for me, our room was the icing on the cake! Now, I must admit, I really don't want to recommend this fantastic place as don't... More

Stayed for a night at the charmingly named 'Little Dorrit' room. Comfy bed, good shower, and some Sherry to share... Lovely! Great afternoon tea and scones by the fire, good dinner out - excellent stay all in all.

We had the most fantastic time at Bleak House, the staff were wonderful and went out of their way to provide good service and show us Dickens' study and the Smugglers' museum in the basement. Lovely warm fires and tasteful, reasonably priced afternoon tea. Highly recommended.

We dropped in for tea after a blustery cliff top walk. The cream tea was excellent - delicious fresh, warm scones and plenty of cream! The place has real character and the staff were very welcoming. I agree with previous reviews that the entrance could be improved, but this is a minor issue in such an interesting and historic place.... More

We stayed at Bleak House in December for my birthday and even in the depths of winter, the crackling fires and beautiful Christmas decorations made it very cosy. All of the staff are absolutely lovely and they were really helpful with every aspect of our stay. The hotel is full of history and as I did part of my Masters... More

For the ultimate luxury break in beautiful Broadstairs, do stay at Bleak House. Dating back to our wars with the French, this fantastic property oozes with Broadstairs' history, from the smugglers tunnels cuts by hand out of the chalk cliffs and accessed from the basement, to the study complete with writing desk and chair where Charles Dickens penned Nicholas Nickeby... The staff at this hotel are very welcoming, helpful, friendly and by far the best aspect of Bleak House. We stayed in the Copperfield Suite which has a spectacular view of Broadstairs. The room is in desperate need of some decor TLC. The bed side lamps and chandelier are particularly hideous - but humourlessly so. The room could be absolutely... More
