The best breakfast in Britain. Apparently that's what one reviewer said- and I can believe it. It really was amazing. Jilly is a wonderful host, welcoming friendly and very happy to go beyond what's expected to help you enjoy your stay. We ended up eating part of a delicious apple crumble she had made for her own dinner, when she... More

A lot of couples on this site have raved about this unusual b n b, about the sumptuous breakfasts, the stylish decor, the hospitable land lady -- all true but not the reason I would go back, or rather not just those reasons in themselves. What I want to say about Belvidere place is it gives you an opportunity to... More

A friend and I stayed here for the evening as a special treat even though we are local ourselves. The minute you walk in you think "complete opposite of a holiday inn" The Owner (Gilly) was warm and you can't help but take an immediate liking to her. The layout is rustic, retro and warming (two fires on the go... More

A real treat is in store at Belvidere Place. Jilly is an excellent host, the rooms are beautifully decorated with all the little touches you might hope for. Breakfast is leisurely and super tasty, with a great veggie option available too. The beautiful town and coastline are right on the doorstep. Perfect for a weekend away!

My wife and I stayed here for a superb couple of nights earlier this year. The owner Jilly and her son Gus could not gave been more accommodating, welcoming or hospitable. Breakfast superb and a real treat, very interesting place and we loved staying there. Lovely touch on the Friday night, Jilly asked my wife and I to join her... More

the review with this heading is rubbish. I challenge the writer to pistols at dawn. Jilly was wonderful on my first visit and the accommodation was great. Jilly is friendly and helpful. Don't believe the previous review - Bruce from South Africa

This was our fourth visit to Belvidere Place - we really do love it here. Jilly is an amazing host, so welcoming and goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy your stay. The hotel is stunning - full of beautiful art and character, and the breakfasts are quite simply the best. We really can't recommend it enough... More

Somewhat baffled by previous review, certainly doesn't tally with our experience. The house is a stunner inside, all dark greys and blues & interesting furniture & textiles. Jilly was really welcoming, rustling up prosecco & nibbles before we went out and full of information. Breakfast was delicious, a couple of poached fruit options followed by one of the nicest full... Having read some of the other unpleasant reviews unfortunately I have to agree with them in that I found Jilly the owner to be quite rude, scatty and condescending but maybe I just encountered her on a bad day, which is a pity. Perhaps she needs her own little holiday? The house itself was quite bare and I would have... More

We have travelled a lot and stayed in some great hotels but these breakfasts were probably the best. This is a quirky and enjoyable place to visit and jilly in particular was so engaging and enjoyable to chat to that we immediately felt at home. The rooms were very comfortable and there was an eclectic mix of things that we... More
