I travel the country and stay in lots of guest houses. This one beats them all. The building itself has great character being built in 1819 and Brian is the perfect host. The rooms have so much history; but it's the consideration of the guest that beats all. A few eclairs on your bed. Nice biscuits for your tea. Even... More

You have to try it for yourself - the house and garden, the bedrooms & views, food & friendliness, tranquility & sunroom ! Oh and LOTS of helpful leaflets and books. .We left our bedroom sash-window open to hear the estuary birds in the morning - glorious. It's our go-to B&B in Dungarvan.

Cairbre House sits right on the waters edge on the Abbey Side of Dungarvan, but is only six minutes walk to the town centre and the many pubs and restaurants. Brian, the owner, is an excellent host. His breakfasts are beautifully prepared and and will contain fresh ingredients picked from his garden daily. The rooms are very comfortable with large... More

Cairbre House is a beautiful old period home but what makes it special is its owner Brian. His attention to detail is amazing: towelling robes, face clothes, shampoo, conditioners , electric blankets , fresh flowers in the bedrooms, tea, & coffee making facilities, biscuits ,all the things you expect in a 4* & 5* hotel but not in a B... Absolutely delightful experience - charming, quaint beautiful grounds, beautiful decor. This is a story book B&B you will not be disappointed if you are looking for a place full of character. The owner Brian was very welcoming, made us feel at home.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay at Cairbre House. Brian is a lovely host and tends a nice garden that he harvests to provide delicious food for breakfast. He also takes great care in all the details to make sure guests have an enjoyable stay. You can see this clearly in the beautifully decorated breakfast plates. The B&B is also... More

I have stayed in Cairbre House a few times now, my most recent stay was this Easter weekend. The owner of the B&B "Brian" is very welcoming, giving guests a free run of the surroundings. Cairbre House is beautifully set along the water and has ample gardens. The house is full of history and character. Breakfast is excellent, top quality... More

We stayed at Cairbre house en route to Rás Mumhan in Cill Orglan. The rooms were cosy, the food was great and Brian was very accomodating allowing us to use the Garage as storage for bikes. We all had an excellent nights sleep & a fantastic breakfast which was exactly what we needed

We prefer to stay in places of character instead of predictable hotels and Cairbre House was perfect. Lovely location jutting out into the Corrigan River, 5 mins walk from the town centre. Very charming reception and bedrooms and lovely breakfast. Brian was so friendly and helpful - he went the extra mile to find a charger for my phone, so... More

Brian the host is a pure gentleman, the house full of atmosphere and set in beautiful gardens, the food is of high quality: no corners cut at all, price very reasonable: overall I highly recommend Cairbre House. The second day of our stay was rainy so we sat and read in the conservatory overlooking the mountains and estuary and Brian... More
