We stayed for 3 nights at this charming B & B. Our room was lovely and we slept very well. Breakfast was a gourmet treat. We also had dinner there on our first night. Gertie prepared a delicious hake. I have never had such a nice piece of fish. We were on a mission to find some relatives in the... More

I have just returned from my second visit to Kilcannon house and it never disappoints! Welcomed back like old friends it was like we had never been away. The welcome is truly warm, Pat and Gertie are the most generous hosts, the rooms are beautifully appointed and decorated to the highest standard. The food is fabulous - on a arrival... More

I recently stayed at the Kilcannon House with my husband for 3 nights, and we fell in love with it instantly. Owners Pat and Gertie are absolutely delightful and made our stay truly special. We had heard from friends about Kilcannon House and booked our stay well in advance. We were not in the least disappointed with our entire stay. The stay started with tea and warm apple pie in the garden before we settled into our room. The room and ensuite were large with views of the glorious Irish countryside. We had made... More

Not knowing Ireland we picked the Kilcannon House, by chance, thanks to the nice reviews. Little did we know that we'd be staying at the perfect place. It was easy to find when we put the coordinates into our GPS. (Make sure to use the coordinates instead of address) Gertie welcomed us in with tea and fresh baked rhubarb lemon... More

Firstly let me give you a context to the title above. Over a period of 7.5 weeks in the last 3 years we have been cycling around Ireland. We estimate that we have stayed in about 45 B&Bs (all but 2 have been very good indeed) however Kilcannon House beats them all by a significant margin. Why is this? In... More

From the moment we arrived and Gertie greeted us, we felt like we were staying with family. This place is not to be missed. We only stayed one night, but wish we could have stayed longer, as there were several things we would like to have seen in the area. Right away, Gertie brought out carrots for us to feed... More
