We stayed at Kilcannon House for one night. It is a farmhouse situated some distance from towns. We had a nice spacious pleasant room and enjoyed an excellent breakfast with many home-made preserves. We also had the dinner option - Gertie is a very experienced chef and the food was rich and generous. (Note that you are welcome to bring... More

Superb experience, went down to dungarvan for the sean kelly cycle. Met with freshly made apple tart and cream. Next morning, most fantastic breakfast ever, homemade pannacotta and whiskey porridge. Fair play on superb service, this is what b+b should be about.

My son and I spent just one lovely night at the marvellous Kilcannon House this weekend. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! Pat and Gertie Ormond are a genuinely warm and welcoming couple, who have created a delightful haven just a few miles outside Dungarvan. We were greeted with an offer of tea and an unexpected, delicious... More

If you find yourself near Dungarven in the Southeast of Ireland and don't make the Kilcannon House part of your trip, you are sadly missing out on a wonderful piece of Irish charm. Having stayed in Dromoland Castle just a few nights prior to staying at the Kilcannon House, I figured I had already seen it all. I was quite... More

Our two night stay at Kilcannon House was the best. Gerty and Pat are genuinely hospitable folks, making us feel welcome and at home in their Irish Country House. The food was the most excellent we have ever had at a B&B. Gerty is a superb cook making most everything from scratch, including gluten-free, as you can imagine this is... More

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. Gertie was making her fabulous brown bread as we entered her lovely warm kitchen. She showed us to our room as Pat put the kettle on for our tea. The room was delightful. Clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Before dinner we were given a fantastic cocktail made from elderberry... More

Pat and Gert were gracious hosts. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. We were greeted with a delicious tea with homemade rhubarb pie. The secret ingredient in the morning porridge made the entire stay worthwhile! It is a little off the beaten path but the location is convenient for touring the south east. Close to Lismore Castle... Last night, I stayed at Kilcannon House and I must say that it was a terrific experience. Pat and Gertie are so welcoming and hospitable, serving coffee and the most divine crumpets on arrival. The house is gorgeous, plush and comfortable. I slept the sleep of the dead in the East Wing bedroom. Breakfast was superb, pannacotta, fruit and nuts... More

We travelled to Dungarvan (family of 4) for one night. I feel like I have stumbled upon the best B&B in Ireland. Gertie and Pat Ormond made us feel like royalty. The BEST ever food I have ever had. Cant say enough good about this place. The rooms were just perfect, beautiful quality cotton sheets (ironed) and very comfortable beds.... More

If you love gourmet food, chat and plenty of local information, be sure to pay a visit to Gertie and Pat. Watch out for the porridge, it's got quite a kick ;). This is not your average b&b Fabulous food, evening meal is a must!!! Thoroughly enjoyable visit.
