We picked Kilcannon House based solely on TripAdvisor reviews. That's not what we usually do, but the reviews seemed so heartfelt and the descriptions so enticing that we decided to go for it. And we are so glad we did! Gertie and Pat (and Mack the dog!) are wonderful hosts, warm and genuine and helpful (but not at all intrusive),... More

What an all-around treat! In my 3 weeks in Ireland, where I stayed in 14 B&Bs total, no other B&B got even close to Kilcannon House and the luxury treatment I received there. It was a lucky find browsing Tripadvisor on the road after a change of plans due to bad weather. I spontaneously extended my stay to three nights,... More

When we couldn't find the place, our host came looking for us! We met in the road outside his house. Note: It's actually 6.6kms to their road along the main road, not 6km. Regardless, Gertie immediately had us relaxing in the large garden with tea and home made munchies. I chose this B&B because after a day of sight-seeing, we... More

We absolutely loved our stay at Kilcannon House B&B. I initially chose this location because I wanted to show my partner the local mountain hikes and it had an excellent rating on Trip Advisor. The room was GREAT with a large comfortable bed and great en suite bathroom. The farm house and stable yard were exactly what we were looking... More

This was the perfect setting for our overnight stay to attend the travel writing festival. Gertie and Pat are wonderful hosts giving us a tour of the house and gardens, wonderful food, lively conversation and excellent rooms. It's a delightful part of the country and worth a visit with Kilcannon House as a base. We will return. Theresa

This is exactly how it felt with stay with Gertie and Pat, that we were welcomed as friends. Gertie's cooking is exceptional, from lasagne with home made breads (yes more than one type) and freshly picked salad, to a 3 course breakfast. Thank-you both for a lovely and memorable night on our way to the Killarney Bike Festival. Best wishes... More

My brother and sister surprised us when our weekend break in Dublin turned into an adventure in Dungarvin. We arrived at the House and were welcomed by Gertie and Pat. The rooms were very comfortable and immaculately clean Our dinner was an extravagance of rack of lamb and local vegetables. Breakfast was a feast and Gertie provided a sense of... More

Stayed over two nights at Kilcannon house last week, with my wife, and brother and his fiancée over from England, and our faithful hound ,Watson. This was a surprise trip for my brother and his wife to be,who had flown into Ireland the day before to see me in Dublin and discuss wedding preparations in advance of the big day in June. From... Had dinner as part of a party of 6 in Kilcannon house last weekend. You need to book in advance and it's just one group catered for per evening. Was such a lovely evening. As with other posts I totally agree that the food was outstanding, but added to that Gertie and Pat are the most tremendous hosts. It's a... More
