Although this is our 7th trip to Italy, it is our first to Montalcino. We will definitely return and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else than Hotel d'Capitani. The staff was always quick to respond to any need we expressed. Mariangela, in particular, was very helpful with many emails to plan our stay.

This hotel has the best view overlooking the valleys as far as the eyes can see. Waking up with a magnificent view is the most memorable experience in this hotel. Breakfast is quite generous and we enjoyed our breakfast with this beautiful view. It was quite cold when we stayed there and the heating was intermittent. Other than that, the... More

When I think of this hotel, I think of the beautiful view from my room and the breakfast room but my room being very cold. It came true once again, on my latest visit. The same room as last year on the ground floor, offered a great view but alas,, the cold room was a dampener. Asking the couple behind... More

We stayed only a night at Hotel dei Capitani, but liked it very much. Staff was friendly, room was clean, hotel is well situated in town. We checked after sundown and were awed by the view from our room the next morning. We will certainly stay here again when in Montalcino!

My husband and I traveled to Italy to celebrate our anniversary with a wonderful tour company in Connecticut, Andiamo Tours. We were absolutely thrilled with this cozy, charming hotel in Montalcino. Talk about a room with a view! Truly sensational. When you think, "Tuscany," this is what comes to mind. The staff was warm and helpful, the breakfast delicious and... More

As soon as we walked into the room we were amazed by the view of the entire valley. We ended up sleeping with the door open and woke up to the most amazing sunrise. The breakfast spread was pretty outstanding as well. I heard the pool had a wonderful view as well, however, we were there mid/late Oct. and it... More

I arrived in town without a reservation on a busy weekend and this was the only place that had a room and I got their last. After the first night I rebooked and stayed for a second. The hotel is old and fairly original but the room was still quite nice and also clean. Staff were very friendly and welcoming... More

Sadly this place has had its day. Worn and old and in desperate need of a lick of paint. That said the most amazing views from the rooms which if you wanted to stay in your room would be worth it. We booked in last minute with the local tourist board who told us it was the last room in... More

Great Hotel, not just for the stunning views over the Tuscany country. Situated on the edge of Montalcino with easy access to the town. We were made welcome from the offset. Receptionist was friendly and quick to help. We stayed two nights on a walking tour of Tuscany. The room was large, but the shower area was small. No tea... More

Nice place overall. We've stayed in a very nice 2-story room which bathroom needed some renovation though. Good breakfast, with a decent savoury choice made of good local products. Nice pool with stunning view on the valley. A young receptionist really made the difference: she's been very helpful, patient, nice and caring. Free parking even if a bit far.
