We rented Cannavacciuolo suite for three nights. The suites are in a great location with the bonus of its own parking (although as Montalcino is a hill town and this is at the bottom of the hill there it is not for those who can't manage hills). The suites (of which there are four) share a beautiful garden - which we had to ourselves. The garden has a Turkish bath, plunge pools, sun deck and eating area. Inside the suites were tastefully restored and mixed old and new (modern art) well. It was fine for two of us, and whilst there was a room with sofa bed I think the suite would be two small for more than two people.
Whilst our suite had tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge a lack of kitchen made self catering difficult (need to wash up in the bathroom). Given the size of the suite it seems surprising there was no kitchen (one room could have easily have been converted).
In summary a nice place to stay for the convenience of walking into Motalcino.
