My husband and I were traveling with my parents, and my husband had selected this place for the "charm" of the old section. Turned out that the rooms in the old section were quite small and did not have air conditioning, which was fine for me and my husband (it turned quite cool and comfortable at night and we liked... I've just stayed in this hotel for the 5th or 6th time only to find out that standards have seriously deteriorated. It was the first time that I booked this hotel through booking.com. All previous times I booked through them directly (just saying this for clarity's sake, I'm assuming it does not reflect on the kind of rooms given, etc... More

We were booked into the modern building. The rooms are fine, but the walls are paper-thin.Fortunately the hotel was virtually empty---in busy times it must be bedlam.Food in the restaurant was average,as was breakfast. It ia a good base for visiting Erice, but don't come here for peace and quiet.

We went with the Frommer's recommendation to stay here while visting Erice, and that was an unfortunate decision. Firstly, if you are going to see Erice, which you should not miss (!!!), stay in Erice. Nothing else below the mount away from Erice is worth visiting. Anyway, Santa Croce has an old building converted to rooms and then a new... More

Given the prices they charge, and in comparison to all the other places we stayed in Sicily, this place was a real disappointment. Very unimaginative and noise-polluted rooms, a dirty swimming pool, and the most terrible breakfast. I would advise avoiding this place and going somewhere else. The website makes it look a lot better than it is

The hotel has a new building, with awfull rooms. Very noisy. The sounds from the toilets is to be heard in the neighbouring rooms. The electricity did sometimes not work correctly. Early in the morning coaches are leaving from the parking lot, starting their engines, and leaving it on for half an hour before departing, waking up everybody. The old... More

This was our last hotel on our tour of Sicily and it was very disappointing! We started in Taormina and had a great time, then we spent one night in Agrigento and enjoyed it there. Here we had booked three nights in advance through our travel agent and wished we could have changed that after our first night. The welcome... More

I am the front office manager of an important hotel of Taormina area, I have booked my stay at the baglio santa croce because the hotel is situated in a good point to start visiting the beautiful area, Erice, Marsala, Trapani, Saline and Isole Egadi e dello Stagnone. The view from the pool is fantastic, but not from my room... More

This is a family run hotel in Valderice which is up the hill a bit from Trapani. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel is split between an old historic building and one which is new. We stayed in the new building and found it to be very clean and the modern bathroom a real plus. This hotel is out... More

This was our first night in Sicily, the staff on reception we assumed was the owner an older gentleman and a younger lady, the atitude was dismissive, not at all friendly or welcoming. At 6.30pm we asked if we could get a drink, there is a bar in reception. We were told to go down to the Restaurant bar it... More
