Best five star hotel in Italy. Better than le sirenuse and villa de este. Only 20 rooms and therefore expensive. Views were unmatched and service was excellent from every person working there. Free transport to amalfi only so need a car to get places

I don't actually think I can say anything more/different to the reviews already published here! This hotel and it's location is simply stunning. From the moment you arrive you feel as though you are staying with friends as the staff are all so lovely and friendly. We stayed in the Melissa Suite which was beautiful and, I think, one of... There aren't enough superlatives for this hotel. The best pool I've been to anywhere in the world. The food was incredible. The room was lovely. No bath in the standard room. The spa was top end. And there's an energy you just can't describe that is waiting for you. The staff and service were of the highest standard. Mandarin Oriental... More

Arrive at the Monastero to the sound of bells and home made iced tea. Following, a member of the staff happily escorts you on a tour of the magnificent property. The rooms are immaculate, the entire staff is professional and courteous, the grounds and pool are magnificent and the restaurant was the best that we experienced in Amalfi. This is a... More

I read an article about this hotel a year ago in a food and wine magazine. I immediately fell in love with the pool, the hotel setting, the history and story of this old monastery. I said to myself, we will stay here one day! It was my partner's 50th birthday in May so I decided to book a 10... More

I can't truly describe how beautiful this hotel is, and how great our experience there was. From the moment we stepped foot in it, we didn't want to leave. We stayed 4 nights there, and only 'forced' ourselves to leave it once for a day trip to positano and sorrento, and another night to Ravello. The hotel was a former... More

From their breathtaking views, staff, food, grounds to their unmatched Spa services this hotel it is literally a piece of Heaven on Earth! When we first looked into booking Monastero we saw their web site and fell in love with the place. However, their pictures and my review do not do justice to the real thing. It is definitely money... It's hard to know where to start really such is the jaw gapingly gorgeousness of this place. From the welcome, rooms, food, service. staff etc etc. Michelangelo went out of his way to prepare my favourite cocktail, the sommelier was fabulous, Pasquale in the restaurant was fabulous, Kristof the chef, the pool waiters..... everyone was wonderful. I have never stayed... More

A very special place. Service second to none and everyone is so refined yet some of the staff team are so friendly they make a person travelling alone feel like they could relax in the bar and restaurant all day. I will be back. And bring my family next time.

We went for a quick break with friends to this wonderful part of the Italian coastline. Anyone who has read my reviews will know I will pass criticism, but I literally found it impossible to fault the place. The ambience in what feels like a converted monastery (and no doubt was) it superb - quiet, calm, but wonderfully atmospheric and... More
