My husband and I and friends recently stayed at the Il Saraceno Grand Hotel on the Amalfi Coast. On a positive note, this is a spectacualr hotel, which rests on the side of a cliff and is a part of an old fort. It is located outside the town of Amalfi and there is a free shuttle to town on... More

Fabulous hotel in the most fantastic setting. The furnishings are unique and totally in keeping with this magnificent building. Sit on the beach and watch the boats come by to admire this hotel it is truly spectacular! If you're looking for modern decor and all the latest gadgets and gimmicks, try elsewhere, if you want something unique and memorable then... More

This hotel rest on the side of and seems to be built in to a cliff going down to the beach on the Amalfi coast. It is a short distance away from the town of Amalfi and the hotel provides a shuttle if you chose to go there. Dinner in the restaurant was good and the wait staff very attentive.... More

My fiancé and I booked this hotel for our 3 day trip to the Amalfi coast. First, the views are unreal - can't ask for more. The staff was friendly and helpful and there was a decent breakfast included. The room was decent and clean (seemingly) with nice bathrooms. However, both my fiancé and I experienced bites. We're not exactly... More

This hotel is really unique, I've never quite seen anything like it. What it lacks in 5* luxury it makes up for in sheer drama. It only has 30 or 40 rooms, and it looked like there is a real variation in room type. Although I didn't see any other rooms, I was told the standard rooms are spacious. Some... More

I spent three sunny days there and didn't feel the need to go out of the hotel. The private beach can be accessed using an elevator and there are towels and beds for the guests. But the best part was the room with a stunning view of the sea. So far the best hotel I've been in my life.

We stayed there in August and have to agree that it is NOT a 5 star hotel by any means! However that said the views are stunning and the hotel has a private beach which is very nice as best part of it. We did not eat once in the hotel based on the breakfast which was very poor for... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in September 2013. The hotel is a converted fort and had a lot of interesting features. Nice swimming pool and private beach. Staff were friendly enough but the service was nothing to write home about. This may be a bit ageist but they were all quite old and all men and think... More

We stayed in this supposedly 5 star 'resort' for 2 nights. The location cannot be faulted. The staff are too old and have a hierarchy approach to service which results in a slow wait for food and drinks. Often we had to ask for our drinks 3-4 times before it came out all in their good time. It was not... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in May 2013. The staff was very friendly and our room was clean. The hotel is built into the side of the mountain and offers tremendous views. There is a shuttle bus that runs hourly to transport guests to and from the town of Amalfi. Parking is an issue because of the... More
