We stayed at the Athena in the middle of June. The weather was gorgeous without being too crowded. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room looked out over the street which wasn’t overly noisy but allowed for plenty of people watching. The pool area is fairly small and can be quite shaded. Apart from sometimes in the middle of the... more

Basically more the adequate for the job. Rooms basic, self catering is a squeeze as converted hotel room but functional. Showers etc great. Location excellent. Staff excellent, pool okay (shady sometimes) Food cack but you're surrounded by great restaurants anyway! Cleaners good, Lifts scarey but working okay. Overall don't be frightened to go for this one its good value and... more

We have just returned from a early break and found the Athena to be great value for money. Staying in one of the smaller apartments it was fine for the two of us & it had all you needed for preparing snacks/breakfast & with Taverna's & bars close by. Although we had two small problems, (the kettle did not work... more

This is an aparthotel, only a couple of minutes from the excellent beach, and surrounded by the many bars, restaurants and shops of the new town. We had an apartment, so there was a very small kitchen area with kettle, electric hobs and fridge. However, it was pretty greasy and the size makes it OK for making a salad or... more

The hotel Athena is a good priced basic hotel in a great location 5 mins from beach and almost on top of lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. We had 2 rooms both were clean, towels changed whenever you left them on the floor and beds changed twice a week. Reception were very helpful, even finding a kettle for us... more

I stayed here with my 17 year old daughter. The room was clean, we only stayed a week and the bed linen was changed again mid-week. Towels changed daily. We had a fridge, which was really useful, the room was air conditioned, definitely need that in the summer! You can hear some noise in the evenings, with being close to... more

When we arrived we were told that we didn't have a room. We weren't the only ones that the hotel had forgotten, about 10 others didn't have a room. After waiting for an hour (about 130 persons came with the same flight to the hotel and we had to wait for them to check-in) we got a room. We had... more

We stayed at the Athena Apartments May 10-17 2006. we were given a fantastic welcome, The apartments are fully air-conditioned and everything is new. The food in the hotel restaurant and at the pool bar is excellent. The owner Socrates, is quite a character and well worth meeting, his sons Pericles & Theo work at the hotel along with the... more
