Not knowing what to expect, i walked away in amazement of the island and the people... If i recommend this hotel? ABSOLUTELY!!! From the caldera views, to the sunset pics, to the wonderful people that actually is IRA Hotel, everything was superb..... Rooms are nice, clean and if you can afford it get one with a view to the volcano,... More

This hotel overlooks the Caldera in Firastefani, a 15 minute walk from downtown Fira. The staff was incredibly nice, they arranged anything we asked or needed, suggested some great restaurants as well as arranged for travel. We had an early morning departure and they set up a small breakfast for us even though their kitchen didn't open for another 2... More

This is a beautiful hotel. Really well run beautifully maintenaned with excellent service. The breakfast choices are good all in a lovely room. My advice would be don't be seduced into thinking that you need a bedroom with a caldera view. The nicest rooms are definitely the cave rooms. My caldera view room could have fitted in the bathroom of... More

This is a beautiful, well-run hotel overlooking the caldera. It's multi level, with lots of deck chairs, comfortable couches and planters filled with deep-coloured geraniums. There's a small pool and loungers with a great view of the sea. The hotel serves a decent breakfast but I wish it took advantage of the fabulous view.

We just returned from Greece yesterday. I loved this hotel. Wonderful rooms. Great patio. The best service!!! Lovely breakfast each day. Convenient lot for parking. It is on the top end of Firastenfani so we got plenty of exercise. I would highly recommend this property.

Positives: Great location, great view of the Caldera (not panoramic). I picked Hotel Ira because of it's promise of great view of the Caldera, that is it is and nothing else, you will not have a great view of the sunset only a partial side view. Our room was the Poseidon Jr. Suite which is two levels down, I paid... More

I would like to say firstly, a big thank you to Maria and all the staff, as they made are stay wonderful, and provided us with many recommendations for places to visit and eat during our stay. I stayed in one of the cave rooms which was lovely, and who needs a view from your room when there are so... More

Can't even begin to describe how incredible our experience was at Hotel Ira. Great location - far from the maddening crowds of Fira and Oia but close enough to get to both easily. We stayed in the Ira suite which had the most breathtaking view of Fira, the caldera and the spectacular sunset. The staff are friendly and accommodating -... More

Our travel agent booked this, and said it is a 3 star. That would be for the room, since the view is 5 star! Room was perfectly adequate, clean, quiet and pretty comfortable. We stayed in the Athena room, which has two levels. It is not a "cave room". The entrance and the bathroom were on the lower level, and... More

Rating the views (magnificent) is different to rating the hotel (poor). The glorious views were compromised by 6 issues: bed linen that reeked of cigarette smoke (grudging apology and replacement linen provided); a leaking bath; an expensive but woeful massage; having to pay for an espresso coffee at breakfast; paper thin walls meant every word and toilet flush from the...
