The hotel is not five stars in terms of quality of services, food, location and amenities. The hotel should advertise itself as three stars. The hotel is situated in a desolated neighborhood. During our stay, the waves were so high that the sea was not safe. We saw an adult struggling with the high waves to come back onshore safely.... More

Good welcome. Decided to lash out and pay for a suite with a private swimming pool and terrace area. Probably was the largest accommodation area that I have ever stayed in. Also had an excellent hydro-massage in the bathroom. Considering what we got, it was good value for money. Large clean friendly hotel and no adverse comments. Hotel is well... More

We booked quite late, almost overnight, and in rush. But the hotel was a really good surprise. Not a big one, close to the sea, very clean, friendly and professional staff. Good food (we had both, breakfest and dinner). But there is something else....you can find not very often. It was a special approach from the whole team - they... More

Just spent a lovely week here in the peace and quiet. Great location if you want to be in a relaxing , more rural area with good pool and lovely beach. Out of season it's very quiet here, it means you get the pool and beach to yourselves and the friendly staff waiting on you hand and foot. Wonderful. It's... More

Asterion position themselves as a 5-star hotel, but I would say they deserve 4 stars. The staff is friendly and helpful. Speaks Russian, English and German. A lot of families with small kids and eldery people. For young people may be a little bit too boring especially taking into account its location in the middle of nowhere. You can take... More

We decided to book a few days in Crete in September. The Asterion ticked all the boxes for us. We flew into Heraklion and pre-booked a taxi straight to the hotel which took about 2 hours. We had emailed the hotel for advise on transfer and they replied with a few helpful suggestions so we had a good feel of... More

Very nice hotel directly on the beach and with good breakfast and the room with the jacuzzi is so romantic but the hotel is not in platanias and the bus station is far from the hotel and a bit scary at night.....

After a very long journey through the town by a bus driver who was driving 10 mph all the way, we were very relieved to arrive at our destination. On initial arrival the hotel looked ok and we were greeted by a friendly and helpful member of staff who checked us in and showed us to the room. He correctly... More

We have spent 2 days in a deluxe family suite, which had a fantastic sea view. Our room was beautifully decorated with a comfortable bed. And, the terrace was lovely. Hotel environment was peaceful and tidy. Hotel is nicely located, but it is just a little bit away from the nearest bus stop. Pool area is nicely decorated and good... More

we had a lovely relaxed holiday, mainly due to the very friendly and attentive staff. The owners try very hard in difficult circumstances to make it work. We felt that 5 * was above the European norm. but we were very touched at the effort made by staff and owners to put things right and ensure a good holiday experience.... More
