The hotel is under rated at 2* - I stayed with a group of friends, taking up 3 rooms with fab views down the valley. The rooms are basic but clean, with beds being made up every day and fresh towels provided. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming with wonderful quirky Alpine artwork covering almost all the doors and any... More

Seems bare on arrival, place v quiet during the day. Quickly come to the opinion that although minimalist It is very clean Rooms are basic, but adequate. Bathroom towels not highest quality, but consistent with 2 star Location is good, a 5-10 minute walk uphill to the hub of the town centre and the super chatel lift (wouldn't fancy walking... More

If you're staying in Chatel, you must stay here. This hotel is under rated at 2* - we stayed in the Chanterelle room. It was spacious, cosy and very charming. We had a north facing balcony (not the first choice) but we still had a good view up the mountainside. The bathroom was spacious with a brilliant shower - just... More

We stayed here for a weekend in March and were lucky to find a room at late notice. The rooms are spacious and reasonably smart, if a little basic. The bathrooms are basic but very clean. The breakfast is a nice buffet and we also took one evening meal here, which was good value and pretty tasty. It is well... More

I have been here for over 15 years and its excellent! The rooms are so cosy and clean and the staff are very friendly. The food is fresh, home-cooked and to die for! Highly recommended! Can't wait to return! Location is perfect 5 minute walk to the village!

This is a nice hotel, located in the middle of the skiing resort in the Alps. There are 3 types of the rooms in the hotel: 1) With the toilet/shower on the floor 2) With the tolet/shower in the room - not repaired (not very nice) 3) With the tolet/shower in the room - repaired (nice) There is a free... We stayed for 4 nights in this charming 2*hotel in early Jan - perfect for a ski break as traditionally a quiet week on the slopes. This week was no exception - we had the place to ourselves! Great location and view, standard rooms are clean, warm & comfortable, bathrooms are dated. What this hotel lacks in modern amenities it makes... More

Travelling to Chatel early in Jan 09, post the New year rush, ensures empty pistes, no queuing and superb service. Chatel offers easy access from Geneva to the extensive Portes du Soleil area We decided to return to this hotel 2 years after our first visit and were not disappointed. Yes the bedrooms are due for a refurbishment but are... More

Very dated hotel, rooms are in dire need in refurbishment, specially bathrooms. we stayed in a standard room with shower cubicle. shower was terrible. walls are very thin and you are waken up very early by your neighbours every morning. staff were the most unwelcoming encountered in a ski resort. location was ok, 5 min walk from centre of village,... WE stayed at this hotel over last weekend and it was FAB. We had booked the 2 superior rooms and for the differenct it was well worth it. The rooms were large and spacious. Ours had a bath with plently of hot water just what you need after a day on the slopes. Breakfast was very good with croissants to... More
