Dirty room, no TV, no Power point, uncomfortable ancient mattress, breakfast spartan and not value for money including charging baby 10 euros, rude female owner, terrible decor. Shame because building had charm and could be magnificent.

We stayed there two years ago and had such a fun time, in such an eccentric setting, in this lovely town. We could easily have written one of the four and five star reviews here. But this year we visited again, and all the old attractions seem to have gone sour. It's as eccentric and pretty as ever, but the... More

We stayed here as a stop before catching the eurotunnel. Read the mixed reviews but thought we would give it a try. This could be such a wonderful place but just seems to lack love which it had obviously had many years ago. The decor whilst quirky seems like a cover up for all the hidden hazards and areas in... This hotel should be condemned!! The rooms are dirty and there is a strange aroma of musty damp and decay which pervades the whole building. True it's decorated in an unusual style but the proliferation of faded plastic flowers smacks of a wired set for a camp art horror film. Feel lucky to have survived the experience

We kept walking past this hotel and seeing the lovely little courtyard area and would have loved to have sat and had a drink and maybe something to eat but is was never open! We were very disappointed as a friend of ours had stayed here and recommended it.

We had the most dreadful experience at this hotel, we stayed in room 11, which was a four poster, from stained loos, tatty towels, no toiletries, no kettle, and as far as the courtyard it was filthy, couldn't possibly stay the second night due to no sleep... Obviously if you like roughing it for 186€ for a nights stay this... More

A La Cour de France Chambres d'hotes (previously the Hotel de France) is ideally situated in this delightful town. The 17th Century historic building has a charm of its own, unblighted by inappropriate "modernisation". The somewhat eccentric decor is matched by the special atmosphere consistently created by Janie and Patrick Harpur. Thus we have returned to stay at this great... More

The hotel is very ancient but with the most amazing character, the food was delicious and the staff and owners attended to our every need. I loved the building it was just clouded in history that's what gives it it's character overall a fantastic hotel

This hotel is charming, unique and amazing! The owners are extremely welcoming and laid back. Nothing was too much trouble for them including showing the England football game at midnight. We stayed her for one night and we were delighted with our find. From the stunning courtyard to the living area which is bursting with character and the quirky bedrooms.... More

If you have a sense of history and you like Bohemian surroundings you will absolutely love this hotel. A really proper coaching inn, with cobbled courtyards and corridors that feel like you'll bump into D'Artagnan round the next corner. Comfortable, atmospheric and very very friendly - Janie and Patrick simply couldn't be more relaxed and welcoming hosts. And the location... More
