We had a stop over at Le Vauban on our way to catch the shuttle to England. We had a bedroom on the 1st floor, looking out onto the market place. The bedroom was very comfortable with an en suite shower room. Although the shower room was a little small it was perfectly adequate. The town itself is beautiful and... More

We have been to Montreuil a few times as a break on the drive to different parts of France. This though was the first time we stopped here,We can both reccomend it.The first night we had a pancake starter with cheese and ham in,awsome, very tasty and filling. This was followed with dish of the day, an unusual local dish a type... Didnt stay here but had a meal which was perfectly fine.the plat de jour on this occasion was veal 'normandie style', jacket potato, veg and salad with bread.I sort of paysan style home cooking and good value for €13. The service was a bit slow.. Not because they were rushed but because we were being ignored so we had to collar... More

I stayed in this hotel last August with my husband and two young children and another family. We chose this hotel specifically because it had a bar and restaurant attached. On arrival the staff seemed fine and we went off to our room. The room was fine, v spacious and good value (hence two stars rather than one!). When we... More

We picked this hotel as it looked like an authentic French hotel and brasserie. Unfortunately we only got the room as the bar and brasserie were shut despite it being a Friday night. The price would have been OK if all facilities had been open but as it was essentially just a small room, it felt like a bit of... More

We stayed here for the first time after travelling through the Channel Tunnel. We usually stay in a B and B hotel, which is good value, but lacks the homely touch we found here. Our room was clean, simply furnished but comfortable enough for one night- or more, if desired. Breakfast was continental , of course, but plenty of it.... More

Great central location and friendly greeting. We were given room 10 on the 2nd floor with clean bed linen and bathroom. Neither the bedroom door nor the bathroom door fitted properly but for one night we could live with that. However we were abruptly woken at 6.30am by what we first thought was a lorry outside with its engine running.... More

This hotel had the typical charm you would expect of a family run establishment. Although the owner spoke little English (and we very little French) we were able to communicate amiably enough. At about 1am I was awoken by a loud banging noise, which at first I thought was some time of roadworks drilling outside. A short time later, I... More

This has been our third overnight stay in Le Vauban, and there will be more.....' It does what it says on the tin'....an unpretentious small hotel/ restraurant in rural France . Each time we stay there we can see small improvements and modernisations to the hotel. Montreulle is a popular destination for overnighters perhaps , like us on a 'booze run'.... More

Welcoming hotel with family hosts. Nice breakfast, hot bread and croissants which was a nice surprise. Room was very clean and comfortable but rather spartan with minute bathroom but it sufficed as we only wanted to sleep there not luxuriate A little overpriced for what it was
