It was nice to revisit this hotel in the pretty town of Bergues. Well worth a visit, even as a stopover a little further from the ferry than usual. Also handy for the battlefields tours. Nice welcome, comfy rooms, good food and a cosy bar make it an excellent stay..

This Hotel is perfect for the traveller going South or moving on to Belgium which is only 30 minutes away. Very basic but comfortable, the price is right and you are in the centre of a beautiful French village with a bit of history. Within easy reach of many wartime sites and the International cemeteries. Good for a weekend, family... More

A basic hotel and overpriced. Rooms are very basic. Well placed near the centre of the town but dissapointingly the hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evening - as are many of the restaurants in town. It's next door to a church - and the bells are loud! Breakfast is good - it's a buffet so come hungry as it... More

Have stayed here twice (in preference to the budget hotels with their cardboard walls and noise from other guests) and it has to be said, when you need to sleep Bergues is very quiet unless you object to church bells!! The church is opposite, but its charm makes up for any audible inconvenience. The first time we stayed here we... More

On our recent journey to Alsace we decided to stop in the little town of Bergues in the Nord Dept. of France just south of Dunkirk. We had visited the town about 5 years ago and were surprised to find so many French visitors, who had travelled by coach, wandering around. We later learned that a film ("Bienvenue Chez les... More

Very nice hotel for reasonable price. Room was clean. 4 beds were comfortable. Friendly staff. Breakfest 11 euro pp (08/2013). But arround the corner we have found traditional French bakery :) Beautiful old town.

We always enjoy this hotel. The town is a nice size for a walk around, the hotel is always friendly and clean and the restaurant offers good local choices with excellent value (around 25 Euros will buy you three good courses). Good wine selection as well as red, white or rose by carafe.

We were in rooms 30 and 32 in the building next to the main hotel. Big solid doors, wide old oak floorboards, high ceilings, beautiful staircase leading to the room with new, firm bed plus immaculate sheets, modern bathroom with great (towel) heater, separate toilet. Superb room. I suppose if you dislike the sound of church bells then you might... More

I stayed here last night on a visit to do some tourism related to the famous French film Bienvenue Chez Les Ch'tis which was filmed principally in the town centre. I am going to focus on the hotel first - the reasons why I am giving it 5 stars; 1. It was clean and modern 2. I got a good... More

This hotel us in a charming market town and offers well decorated, clean rooms and an excellent restaurant. An excellent base for touring the France Belgium border, the town has a few nice shops and a couple of alternative restaurants for Friday night when the hotel restaurant does not open.
