We stayed here at Villa Verde this past weekend while visiting El Valle and were pleasantly surprised. These rooms are nothing over the top...very simple but have everything you need. We had a refrigerator in our room (the Jr. Suite) - which was perfect for the bottles of white wine we had brought for an event. The gardens around the... More

The staff was very nice and the food was cooked to order. The Restaraunt is not under the restaurant section of trip advisor at this writing but it was one of the best. It is no longer German but Peruvian and the fish chowder that I had was great.

We stayed here for one night without reservation, when arriving we were greeted by 2 lovely ladies who took time to show us around and showed us 2 rooms where we could stay. The rooms are basic, but its perfect for a one night or two night stay. Rooms were very clean and spacious and bathroom was clean too with... More

We spend one night with a group of four people. Because we had previously read that they offer a place to have barbeques, we called the hotel to confirm if the usage would be possible. After we spoke to the fourth person they confirmed us that we could use the barbeque free of any charge, unless we won´t tidy up... More

We stayed here last week for two nights. Our first impression was very good, the hotel is located in a lush garden with beautiful flowers. Our room had a good size and set up, with a little living room area and a cosy corner with the bed, but it was all totally outworn and would need some renovation. It just... More

We stayed one night in El Valle and when we asked around we were quoted the lowest price at Los Capitanes so we stayed there. The rooms were OK. Pretty stuffy and dated. We slept with the windows open because we wanted the fresh air and the wind was howling all night. It was also quite a walk into town... More

It was a place to sleep, convenient to town and easy to find. For the money I guess that's all you should expect. The grounds were pretty. We had no hot water. Didn't live up to the website in my opinion.

I read reviews in the travel books made the restaurant sound good. No one was in the restaurant when we arrived. Rule #1 when eating out and particularly when eating out in an unfamiliar place....don't eat there if there are no people there. I'll make this short, the food was bad.

This place has fantastic potential. It's run down a bit and rather spartan. The weather in El Valle is quite nice at night but you can't open the windows because of insects. While the temp outside is wonderful the rooms are stuffy due to no fresh air. The room I had was tired. On the bright side the staff that... More

El Valle is a truly beautiful area to experience and I found Los Capitánes to be a superb place to start. My room overlooked a trickling brook and up to a misty mountain. On my first morning I saw a toucan in a tree in the hotel's gardens. While there, I took the jungle trip to the house El Capitán... More
