First and foremost the service from staff was excellent. The poolside villa we rented was extremely comfortable with large showers and nice A/C after a hot day on the beach. The pool was absolutely perfect for our 3 and 7 year olds with a nice walk in sloped entry. We sat on the beach chairs in the shade and watched... More

This place is amazing. The grounds are beautiful--the pool, the villas, the breakfast rancho, the incredible sunsets. The hosts, Brad and Tara, were so generous and took great care of me and my two kids (ages 11, 9.) Every day we had such a great time--either relaxing after a yummy breakfast, or surf lessons or an adventure on the quad... More

Everything about the Villas was excellent. The villa, pool area, breakfasts and beach access were perfect. Brad and Tara were excellent hosts. They gave us excellent tips on zipline and nature reserve tours and set them up for us. They had excellent dining references. Brad's ATV tour was the hit of the week. Our boys are still talking about it.... More

This was our 5th visit to this region of Costa Rica, but our first time staying in Hermosa. In the past we always stayed in Mal Pais, but ended up driving to playa Hermosa almost everyday, because it is the best place to surf, swim and relax. Well, we were definitely spoiled staying at Villas Hermosa! We were in the... More

Room was great, animal life was everywhere. Host and hostess are perfect. I needed a birthday cake for my mother-in-law (less than 24 hours notice) they made it all possible. Very helpful, they have great recommendations. Con - Not the normal get away (you will see ants and crabs and frogs). Pro - that is what I was hoping for.... More

You can gather from the other blogs that Brad and Tera are terrific hosts. Yes the two bedroom villas are nice and the breakfast brunch by Christi is wonderful. What we found especially amazing were the different critters that inhabit the Villas Hermosas grounds.Brad and Tera have created a very magical tropical environment which attracts a wide variety of wild life.... Brad and Tara are fantastic "hosts"! I'm not sure that is their official job description, but they were amazing! If you are into spending time with the people you travel with and not hundreds of strangers, this is the place for you. Very intimate. Very safe. We loved it there and will be back.

I love Villas Hermosas and I think it is pretty evident by the fact that we have stayed there five times in four years. If you are looking to visit the Santa Teresa/Malpais area, I highly recommend Villas Hermosas. It is located on the far edge of town and owned by 2 of the loveliest people I have had the... More

Every year I tell myself I won't write another review, that it's all been said already. And every year there's something new that I can't keep to myself despite the fact that I'd really love to keep this place kind of secret. But, too late, secrets out... so here goes. This was our 5th or 6th visit and we brought... More

Friends of ours recommended Santa Teresa as THE place to go if you are going to Costa Rica. I did a lot of research before booking a place given how out of the way Santa Teresa is and the variety of accommodations. We were looking for something not too rustic but also something that would allow us to feel like... More
