A friend and I recently spent a week at Hotel Raratonga. It was easy to make pre-arrangements with Alessia, via email. Stayed in both a hotel room and in the apartment during the course of our stay. Nicely landscaped grounds and good privacy/security. A/C worked well which made for good nights rest. Super close to a grocery store, so cooking... More

There are many hostel & Cabins available in this charming little surf town but hotel Raratonga just really stood out to me when searching the net before arriving. I found it on the nicoyapeninsula web site which was really helpful in regards to all things of that region of Costa Rica. The hotel is located really close to the bus... More

Raratonga was great - we were made to feel at home and the rooms were beautiful with wood walls and a really cozy feel. One perk was having a minibar with very reasonable prices for drinks which were nice to have! The only thing is that there are many roosters around the property (at the neighbors' places) so I heard... More

We stayed in Hotel Raratonga in the end of March and had an awesome time in Santa Teresa. Alessia was so accommodating with setting up side trips to Isla Tortuga and reservations for dinner and just all around general information on fun stuff to do (off the path beaches and trails). She was also very available and just down right... More

I just stayed at Raratonga with my girlfriend for a week. We were there to spend time with each other, surf and hang out at the beach, and it was great for that. It's a good place for private rooms - the only thing not private about some of the rooms is the room directly next door, but it's not... More

If you want to stay at a location that is clean, beautiful and steps away from the beach, go to Hotel Raratonga. The owners, Alessia and Stefano, are nothing but helpful, warm and accommodating. They are full of information and have connections with people all over Costa Rica. My husband and I have been vacationing in Santa Teresa for 6... More

Hotel Raratonga was great! Alessia who runs the hotel is the nicest and most helpful person we met on the entire trip -- she basically acted as our tour guide for the entire stay. She had a trusted cab driver meet us in Tambor, she would recommend to us the best places to eat, she arranged for all of our... More

alessia was gracious. santa teresa is beautiful. raratonga is a gem. many thanks for the great stay! nothing bad to say about raratonga. the place is epic. other than the high concentration of italian/isreali pseudo rasta/gangsters, santa teresa is a gem itself.

I cannot fault raratonga. Alessia is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. All obstacles were overcome making it a memorable stay. Good service goes a long way. I will be back in the low season.

Alessia, the owner is extremely helpful both before visit and afterwards. Made the process simple ahead of time, offered to help with transportation, laid out options, answered all my questions...etc. Binder in room had personal touch with recc's for restaurants, beaches, sightseeing, surf shops...etc. Cons: There are lots of roosters, but nothing a heavier sleeper or earplugs couldn't drown out....
