There is no better place to stay in Santa Teresa. While the driveway is a bit intimidating, the view is WELL worth it. The infinity pool overlooks the jungle and the beach. The outdoor bathrooms are so refreshing (I never wanted to shower inside again) and the entire villa had a "bringing the outside in" aura. Juan and Ale are... More

We stayed 3 nights at gumbo limbo and loved every bit of it ! Juan was the best host, helped us with activities and restaurants, and even invited us for dinner on our first night and on a day trip the day after. Breakfast was awesome, with the best of views, though you will have to drive on very steep... More

I'm trying to think of how to explain gumbo limbo best... It's kind of like camping, but in a beautiful jungle overlooking the ocean.. Simply put, you have to experience it yourself. First do yourself a favor and splurge on one of the villas, they are each very private up the hill from the hotel rooms/ breakfast restaurant. If you... More

You can't visit Santa Teresa, I should say - Costa Rica in general, without a stay at Gumbo Limbo. Our stay was hands down the best part of our trip. The location could not be better - on a hill right off the main road - close to all restaurants and the beach. In my opinion, the best place to... More

Staying at Gumbo Limbo was the best decision we made during our vacation at Costa Rica. Fortunately Gumbo Limbo is located off of Santa Teresa’s main street thus being very central to many of the local stores. As a bonus, due to its location on the hillside, it is also isolated from the noise of the town. Gumbo Limbo provides... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Gumbo Limbo for the first time and were very satisfied. We wanted to be close enough to the main road to be a part of the fun stuff but far enough away that we didn't have to deal with the dust and noise. The dust is awful during the dry season and you definitely... More

Stayed for 5 days. This is very close to downtown and all the local establishments. The place is up a pretty steep hill, so a 4X4 is a must, but literally 1/8th of a mile from the main strip. The staff, especially Juan were fantistic. The views from the pool are the best in the city. There are 4 bungalows... More

We spent some of our best time during our stay in Santa Teresa. This beautiful and nature surrounded villas have the best panoramic views in town and you will be able to see the best of Costa Rican flora and fauna. Clean rooms, a friendly staff and a great swimming pool makes Gumbo Limbo the best option you can take!

We stayed for three nights and loved it here. Our villa had two rooms and a great view from a private terrace. There is a small pool in front of the villa which is very nice. The hotel is on the mountain/hill which is nice because it is quiet and in a very natural surrounding. The hill is difficult to... More
