We (37/36 year old couple) arrived at the Hilton Papagayo on Friday August 3rd and stayed for 5 nights. Overall this is a nice resort which I would rate between average and very good. (3.5 stars). Location: The property is approximately 15 minutes from the Liberia airport as advertised. The airport itself is small and I found it very easy... More

This place is good. Not amazing and not terrible. Good parts to start!!: Lovely setting, some great staff members, great rooms, lovely beach and good scuba diving. Bad parts: Huge resort so you are going to spend a lot of time waiting for transport. The hills are quite steep ( I was staying in the 400's) so it the hot... More

My wife and I came here for our 10th anniversary and could not say enough good things about it! The staff was awesome and eagerly waited on us hand and foot with a very gracious smile. Most of the rooms on the property are private bungalows with great views, so there is a very fast and convenient shuttle service to... More

We spent 9 days at the Hilton early August with our two 9 yr. old boys and had a wonderful time. The service and staff were extremely accomodating. We were pleasantly surprised how great the all-inclusive meals were, even for the pickiest eater. Drinks were good, but could use a little more alcohol. Our room was located near pool &... More

We decided to take a girl's trip last week, and the Hilton Papagayo Resort & Spa was the perfect location. Sprawled out over hills, bungalows that feel like they're in the jungle, and breath taking views were the start to our vacation. The staff, Alejandro at Guest Services, Victor (who led us on an extreme bike tour on a beach!),... More

We spent a week at the Hilton. The staff was amazing--friendly and they couldn't do enough for you. We were quite far from the main areas, but the shuttle service was perfect--with short wait times with a phone call to the office. The food was very fresh with excellent variety. The only disappointment was the beef wasn't up to our... More

Spent a week at this property in June. We requested a room near the main pool area - perfect for us, as it was convenient to restaurants, bar, beach and pool. Request to be near the spa if you prefer more privacy and a "honeymoon / couples" atmosphere. Our room was in need of a bit of upgrading - tub... More

Love this resort! Was the first stop of our honeymoon and as young newlyweds, it is a great place to travel to. Took a shuttle (kinda pricey) from the airport to the hotel for $20 each. That was our fault though as the shuttle was not through the hotel, just an impulse decision by us. As far as the resort,... More

We just spent a week at the Hilton. The service and attitude at the hotel at top notch. The all-inclusive meals and well done and attractively prepared. There is a black sand beach with crystal clear water. There are some places where the hotel is showing some age but there is a maintenance effort all around to improve the place.... More

First of this hotel is located in the hottest and driest region of Costa Rica. Once we went inland, it was much cooler and rainy, grass greenier, but that's what made our resort awesome because we were rained in once, for 2 hours, throughout our 5 day stay - but managed to stay in the pool still. Hotel is 20-30... More
