This property has its good points and its bad points. With Latino/American pop techno music blaring, poolside salsa dance lessons and an all-you-can-eat buffet (people, it's a just a phrase, not a suggestion), the scene is set for a Fantasy Island-meets Love Boat (minus the chemically enhanced purser) experience. The 80s theme continues with the decor but you'll be surprised... More

I just left the allegro papagayo resort and I just have to say don't believe any of the negative comments on here. Honestly you get what you pay for. I have nothing bad to say. The food was awesome, plenty of activities, make sure you play volleyball with Chris! He makes your vacation worth it. Also Marilyn was so friendly... More

We stayed here Jumy 13th-19th, 2014. The resort is located about 30-40 miles from the airport in a secluded area. There was nothing else around this hotel. The taxi ride costs $70 and the driver will try to charge you more by giving you an incorrect foreign exchange rate. We arrived at the hotel a bit early so we were... More

Go for the premium rooms, big difference worth the money. Regular rooms suck. People very nice and very friendly no complaint there. Beach on the resort not the best. Bees ,wasps everywhere yes, but you're in the jungle don't forget that. Food is ok, it won't hurt to change it more often. Rent a car and drive to different places,... More

I stayed here during march break and it was wonderful! The staff were all amazing and very gracious whether you tipped them or not. It was about $50CAD one-way from the LIB airport (about 30 min), too bad there wasn't a shuttle :( The property could use a facelift as it appeared out dated as well as our room. However,... More

It was a zoo not a resorts . Even for free I don't like it to go back to that resorts . Animals inside the property bees allover the buffet , the food a disaster and disappointed . The condition of the rooms such a bad condition . No swimming beach . Crocodile issue in the beach side

I am on their (spotty) wifi currently and still have two days left during my stay. If you have upcoming reservations, change them! Bugs are ever present-- on food and drinks at the buffet (which features unappealing food and some that should be refrigerated given the oppressive heat) Buffet is open air-- no air conditioning, and bees are EVERYWHERE. Everyone... More

I came here with my guard up based on the bad trip advisor reviews. It seems like most of the bad reviews were petty complaints. I didn't have any problems the four nights I stayed here. The pool was nice and so was the room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I also though the food was good, especially... More

I booked this vacation for my boyfriend and I. I read the reviews and didn't think they were too bad. We ended up staying for 2 hours before we upgraded to the Grand Papagayo, and I really do mean upgrade. The staff was Allegro was super friendly and management was very helpful and got us upgraded in record time. Apparently... More

Wonderful place!! The hotel staff were friendly and so helpful! The a/c in the rooms was wonderful, and the showers were spacious and had great pressure. Rooms were also equipped with safes. The resort is on a hill so the hotel conveniently offers shuttles around the resort. One of my favorite things was seeing all the local wildlife that wanders... More
