We certainly had our well deserved break at Lone Pine after experiencing a horrendous 8 hour travelling time due to bad traffic. We were given an upgrade and the room was a welcome sight. The pillows fluffy and the beds were very comfortable. The staffs especially from the housekeeping dept, (Ridzwan) were courteous. We would certainly opt to stay at... More

The hotel is one of the first beach hotel in Penang but have been upgraded in the recent years. Despite being in the center of the touristic zone of Batu Feringghi in Penang entering the hotel compounds is like a entering a different world from the bustling Batu Feringghi. I can swear that the beach is the breeziest. The surrounding... More

Lone Pine is a beautiful resort, without being a big bulky building like the majority of the hotels on the coast. I would recommend Lone Pine if you want to experience a different kind of hotel. It only has 90 rooms, a big garden with a beautiful swimming pool. Direct access to the beach. Staff friendly and helpful.

its on the main trip of batu ferringhi but because the hotel is set back, you don't hear the traffic. Although its a older hotel, the refurb is quite new and done tastefully. We had one of the suite with a bath on the balcony with sea view, it was lush! As its on the main trip of Batu Ferringhi,... More

Staying for 2 nights in deluxe suite, really like the environment and room just like what we expected after watching a HongKong tv series taken place here. That's how we came to know about this hotel. Enjoy strolling around by the seasides and the garden shaded by 'pine' tree. However, services need to be improved, firstly we were told the... More

Stayed here for a few days after the New Year and before this stayed in George Town. This hotel is the perfect antidote to the bustle of George Town; quiet and serene. As soon as you enter you feel relaxed.

We had three nights here and loved the old charm. The gardens are small but lovely, pool bigger than it looks in the photos and the rooms are great. We had deluxe corner rooms with the extra day bed and balcony with an outside sunken bath. This was bliss. Two restaurants are OK, very good breakfasts and international buffet at... More

The service is bad specially in the restaurant, the food was terrible because we have ordered the same dishes at HardRock Penang and their quality of the food is much much better than LP. My family really have high expecting one of the best in Batu Ferringhi but it disappointed us to the max. When we written a formal complaint... More

This is my latest visit here after many many previous visits. The good points has been highlighted in my previous reviews. So I am just going to focus on the areas the hotel should look into / improved. 1. We arrived way past 4 and the room is still not ready yet despite check in time at 3pm. When we... More

Stayed at LP before and after management change. Now owned by E&O, the level of service (attention to details - staff service, food and amenities qualities) very much lacking. Guessed it must be the Malaysian attitude of paying less than full attention to details. Not compete-able with service level in Thailand (e.g. high-end resorts in Phuket). Not comparable with the...
