We stayed a night and checked out the next morning. Everything about the hotel was wrong. When we entered, we felt an unwelcome vibe. Like we hadn't felt anywhere else in Malaysia. The breakfast area was chaotic, with screaming kids running arround. Food scarce. Uninterested staff. Could not leave here quick enough. Booked into Georgetown traders. Relaxed as soon as... more

Do not enter. The outside is good but the moment you enter it is pathetic. The whole staff and the water sports staff has mastered the art of lying. Take whatever you have asked for immediately from them. Do not postpone. They will change and cheat. The only good people there are the massage guy and his sister. Else the... more

I stayed at this hotel at the end of April 2009 when I needed emergency accommodation at short notice. I wasn't expecting a great deal because the reports I had read had been very mixed but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The Reception and the Atrium, with its internal/external lifts (see photo), are... more

I recently visited the hotel for the second time, so knew what to expect. I love the first impression you get when you walk into the lobby area & look up, you don't just get ceiling, you get 10 floors with the glass lifts that go one forever!! The gardens are lovely with plenty of umbrellas or trees for shade... more

Best thing about this hotel is the pool and garden surrounds. Great swim up bar in the pool and large garden surrounds with heaps of pool lounges and shade huts or umbrella everywhere. Walk down direct onto the beach to enjoy water sports. I liked the jet ski's and she liked the horse ! The breakfast was very good The... more

Great value choice for stay in Batu Ferrenghi in Penang, spacious rooms that lack toiletry selection with basic decor. Nice grounds with great pool (which includes a wet bar hooray!) For £35/night that we paid, really excellent value for money with good breakfast selection included. Definitely reccommend for budget holiday. more

We booked a room with side seaview. They gave us a room on the east side but we directly asked for a room on the west side. We were lucky because the hotel was only half full. The side seaview rooms on the east side are overlooking a large buildingsite. On the west side you are lookibng on the hills... more

We picked this hotel because it provided the family room we needed, which in terms of space and bedding was perfect, two rooms each with their own balcony. We payed for a family sea view room, considerably more money than the family hillside view. I would not do so again, the view we had was not worth it. We were... more

After reading other comments and staying in this resort in early April, here's my thoughts. The hotel is located on the west end of Batu Ferringhi, a 10 minute walk from the main area of shops and night markets. Nice spacious and cool foyer/ lobby, fast check in time. There were 3 lifts so it was a short wait at... more

I stayed here for 2 nights in March 2009. I stayed here because I have read many good reviews about Batu Ferringhi beach. I thought it was a beautiful beach. I was extremely disappointed to see an empty beach with no people. Swimming is not advised because there's jellyfish. Nobody is doing any watersports. How can you call this a... more
