***I want to preface my review for future guests by saying: there is poor wifi (in the main house only - not in room), there is NO swimming pool, and there are jellyfish in the waters around Penang. If any of these matter to you, don't book at Annie's! For some reason I saw several guests over our months in... More

Lovely homestay/house that is rented out per room with Annie and her absolutely gorgeous family in the house next door. A great way to immerse yourself in the malaysian lifestyle, Annie, Raj and their kids will make you feel right at home! Basic breaky of toast, jam and coffee is provided with some great conversations guaranteed! I extended my stay... More

Annies homestay is absolutely amazing. There is no way you can fault this place! I extended my stay by two nights, I just didn't want to leave. The family are brilliant, they can't help you enough! Breakfast was provided, towels, excellent information for visiting local attractions. But most of all they were great fun to hang out with n the... More

Reading the other reviews where someone complained about a cockroach. Really? It's not a restaurant - you get cockroaches everywhere! Have you been to Sydney? This aside, I stayed at Annie's for one week. The accommodation is basic and suitable. It has a shared bathroom and I had no problem with the boiler/heat... There is a very large common area... More

We decided to stay at Annie's after reading all the great reviews on the place. The family was really friendly and helpful and the location is quite good. In a residential area just away from the busy market and food stalls (5 min walk). We got a private room with bathroom and it didn't take us long to realise we... More

Annie's entire family is so welcoming and easy to be around. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, air con and fans worked great and breakfast was plentiful. We arrived very late at night and they were up awaiting our arrival. The common area had comfortable couches, a fridge, TV, DVD and plenty of movies (including kid movies). She also has toys... More

We loved our time in Batu Ferrenghi with Annie and her family. We felt welome and well looked after, especially travelling with our 2 year old son who was able to play in their front garden making our stay even more relaxing and stress-free. It was nice to stay in this area of Penang, in a quiet street, away from... More

Annie and Ray the owners are really nice and very helpful. But the rooms they offer are a bit run down, the furniture is a mixture of different sorts and not in the best shape. It's a pity that the common rooms are used to store matresses and furniture, that doesn't create a nice atmosphere. The 2 bathrooms (one on... More
