We have just spent 4 nights at this awesome venue and cannot believe that such tranquility is to be found so close to Cape Town. Specifically we stayed at the private luxury tented Caracul campsite situated on a secluded dam with ample wildlife such as Kudu, Eland, Gemsbok and Wildebeest being sited and a huge quantity of bird life. The... More

Comfortable self catering cottages, rugged mountain setting with excellent road trails for high ground clearance self drives. Witnessed a Rooicat kill a Duiker close to the Lodge - a hand-reared antelope as part of the owners rehab. programme which confused their conservation objective. Solar electricity with low wattage lighting in cottages adds to 'mountain' lodge atmosphere. Worth visiting.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of African Game Lodge and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, you did see a caracal kill a duiker, which was an incredible sighting so near to the chalets, and it is all part of the natural process of a game reserve and animals in the wild. The... More

The real highlight during our stay was the staff. We have traveled throughout Africa and have never met more knowledgeable, accommodating and passionate people. The cottage ('Springbok') was beautifully adorned with rose petals for our arrival on honeymoon and the peace and serenity of the Karoo was exactly what we were looking for. Siya was fantastic- his game drive was... More

We decided to start our road trip at the African Game Lodge, from the moment we arrived we knew this was a good call, we were warmly greeted by the manager, Siyabonga (Siya for short), and were met by the owners Len and Mandy a little later. The accomodation was fantastic, everything literally runs off solar power. What I could... More

Great reserve, wonderful to see the Cheetahs in the morning. Very neat unit, we had a bit of problem with hot water, it was sorted by the manager thou. The drive back to town is a bit far if you need to go to town everyday, however if you dont want to see your car for a few days, this... More

We original met Mandy and Len at Tenikwa Awareness Centre where they set up an animal Rehabilitation Centre near Plettenberg Bay - really worth a visit to do the Walking with Cheetahs and understand the problems facing the animal world in the 21st century. We were so impressed with the work they had done there and listen to their plans... More

We spend a wonderful weekend under the stars of the Little Karoo night sky, away from mobile phones and iPads at the African Game Lodge. Mandy and Len, Leigh Ann and Siyabonga are very kind hosts and guides that share their love for the environment and the wildlife in this conservation area, whilst catering for their guests in a genuine... We loved our stay at African Game lodge. Emma and Sadie's (the 2 ostriches) visits were a highlight, as was the mongoose. Loved the nature drive with picnic lunch. The stars were amazing here. The cottage was very comfortable and we loved braaing on the stoep with only the sound of the crackling fire and the frogs as company... Thanks... More
