It was a really pleasant stay. Nothing fancy, not too much. Just everything you need. The personnel is nice and try their best to serve nicely. It's definitely a place to forget about your phones and simply enjoy the water and read a good book. Im planning to Definitely try it again! :)

Cano Hondo is tough to get to, 7 miles on a rough (even for the DR) gravel road. But once you get there the hotel is amazing! They've diverted part of a creek so it flows through the grounds forming lots of little pools with waterfalls and things where it goes from one pool to the next. They're man made... More

This place is divided into two: Paraiso Cano Hondo & Altos de Cano Hondo. The difference is that Altos, like its name implies in Spanish, is higher than the other one therefore it has better views. It is only $10 more so it is worth it. All rooms are spotless, there is hot water, fans, and are very spacious. The... More

I stayed here for one night with my family and although we were all tired by the time we got there (granted we took a longer route - Santo Domingo-Punta Cana-Caño Hondo) we were very pleased with the hotel. At first sight the trip was well worth it (we stayed at Altos de Caño Hondo) and the structure is magnificent.... More

This hotel is a mixture of styles - aiming to be an Eco- hotel it is built of immense amounts of strangely modelled concrete which is gradually nibbling into the edge of a National Park. Having said that the rooms are comfortable, wifi in the common areas is good and there are good walks into the forest. Food is a... More

Well I was supposed to go see whales in Samana, so I drove the winding road from Hato Mayor to Sabana Del Mar, a risky proposition if you are not used to dirt roads, twisty turns, and cliffs, but beautiful nature scenes. We missed the boat to Samana so we decided to drive to this paradise getaway that the locals... More

We went to this place for lunch and to spend a few hours, what a place, I can't say enough of how beautiful the grounds are, the water falls, just breath taken. We had a great lunch here and the food was great, the service was also good,

This is the nicest place to meet nature up close. It offers boat trips to the Haitises, you get to meet two caves that were used by the indians first inhabitants of the island. It has lovelies natural pools. You can also do Zip Line. There's a great fried fish called Minuta, try it. I haven't stayed for the night.... More

This place was great... until we tried to deal with the management people AT ALL. First, they charged us a bunch extra when they discovered that we had four people for 1 room with two double beds, rather than the two people we had booked for. Same room, same beds, much more expensive. Fine. No meals are included until you... More

We choose accomodation in Altos Cano Hondo, upper part of this resort. The rooms are very nice, with beuatiful view into the surroundings. You can swim in the river, which builds cascade of pools. The restaurant is great, food excellent. The hotel is located only approx 800 m from small port, where you can rent a boat and do the... More
