The cabins , built from beautiful timbers, are very small and not air conditioned. They are overpriced for what they are. Don't be fooled into paying extra for 'sea facing'' as none of them really are. The gardens have a lot of mozzies and some have no trouble finding their way into the cabins. Great to get picked up from... More

Do not get conned into staying here as we were The units are small and and squashed into the property , The shower only works part of the time when the city supply is tuned on , The two single beds had foam mattresses. There is no basin in the bathroom and the small sink in the kitchenette had to... More

It's not simply the instant comfort and relaxation I feel every time the friendly guys at the front gate wave me in; it's not simply the warm greetings and genuine care shown by all the staff; its not even the unmitigated joy of sitting on a lazy afternoon upstairs have a relaxed drink amongst friends; it is undoubtedly the centre... The people of Milne Bay are fantastic. You are always met with a smile and a conversation. At the Napatana we stayed in a cabin facing Milne Bay, which was nicely appointed, but not mosquito proof. Hmmm. These cabins should have mosquito nets as standard. Maybe they don't want to scare the tourists. This seemed to be backed up by... More

I stayed here for five days on a recent work-related trip to Alotau, which is always wonderful to go back to, but it was my first opportunity to stay at Napatana. The staff take care of you as if you were their own family: a casual grumble I made about mosquitoes one morning resulted in a mosquito net magically appearing... More

I stayed with a friend in a budget cottage before and after a scuba diving trip. Although we were booked in to flashpackers we were upgraded. The staff were very welcoming and the food great. Loved the gardens and the animals. My parents joined me after the dive trip and the staff helped us arrange a trip to the north... More

We stayed at Napatana Lodge during the Canoe Festival in October 2012, on a return visit to Milne Bay. The owner, Greta, very kindly collected us from the airport at Gurney and gave us a quick drive around town so we could re-familiarise ourselves. A big plus of the lodge is the friendliness and care of the staff -they were... More

We stayed at Napatana in January for a total of four nights and loved our little bungalow home with its view of the bay. Simply furnished these bungalows have a lovely feel, which combined with the warmth of the staff made us feel very relaxed and at home. The food in the restaurant varied from gorgeous banana pancakes for breakfast... More

Stayed here twice in October & November during the Canoe Festival in one of the flashpacker air-conditioned rooms. We were collected at Gurney Airport and taken to the hotel by Greta, check in was smooth and our room was nicely appointed with the tea/coffee facilities a great idea. The restaurant was popular and the food was good and inexpensive with... More
