Before reading, bear in mind that this place is ISOLATED. You won't find marble sinks, or Mercedes Benz chauffeurs. The rooms (huts) are tucked on a hill in the bush overlooking pristine clear reef. The staff are excellent and helpful, and obviously well trained. We were picked up from Gurney airport in the resort bus, which is battered - but... More

It's a bit of a trek to get there, but totally worth it. Staff are all so willing to help in every way. All gear is carried, loaded and put together by the friendly and capable dive crew. The dive boat is large and comfortable. Although for much of the time there were only 4 divers, the large boat was... More

Stayed for 6 days to go diving. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly, from receptionists to dive masters. Resort was more 'up-scale' than I expected with large clean comfortable rooms and hot water. Food was good, just too much of it! Despite there only being a few divers (I was the only one on one day!), the larger dive boat was... More

Tawali is truly a special place. It is a diving destination but is also a unique cultural experience. The critters were special and the people were great. It gave me a wonderful appreciation for the people of that part of the world. The visit to tawali will be remembered for the rest of my life. If you are looking plush... More

Stayed there in Jan 2014. Welcoming and accommodating staff and very comfortable clean rooms. The meals were excellent. Diving was fantastic with a very experienced dive crew and a large dive boat was available which was comfortable, well equipped and easy to dive from.. The dive boat was anchored which required one to swim against currents on a few dives... More

My wife and I spent 10 days at the resort over Christmas and new year 2013 and really enjoyed the setting and the diving. The resort The resort complex is perched up on a hill with beautiful views out over the bay and the coral reefs below. A charm of the resort is that it is quiet hidden in the... More

Great spot, snorkelled and paddled with a pod of 20+ dolphins some jumping out of the water, spinning then diving back in. Just a wonderful experience, friendly unobtrusive staff always willing to help. Thanks to all at Tawali for a great break for me and my family.

Had a wonderful time at this resort. Everyone was helpful and friendly, food fabulous, spacious rooms. Excursions were great including a great walk to waterfall with refreshing swim. Boat staff were very friendly. We're not divers and there was still plenty to do.

We (2 ladies mid 50's) had 7 nights at Tawali in Mar13. Our stay at Tawali exceeded all expectations. It's remote location makes it very special - the road from Alotau had recently been graded - so the road and boat trip to get to the resort was 1 hr 45 mins. This journey is part of the holiday as...
