Good location for somebody on foot, small and quiet with good clean facilities, and being next to the playing fields is entertaining! Make sure you get to see the kiwi being fed. Good base for visiting waitomo caves although you have to get the shuttle.

A basic site ideal for those who prefer a quieter campground. Yes, the facilities are showing their age, but they were clean and the flowers in the ladies facilities were a nice touch. The camp warden Tom made us very welcome. One highlight for us was the arrival at dusk of hundreds of starlings, who flew in to roost in... More

After reading excellent reviews and seeing the lovely pictures on the net, we were very disappointed with this holiday park. We honestly felt like we were camping in someone's front yard that happened to have an amenities block. The driveway to get into the ground was not really suited to campervans and neither were the concreted blocks to park your... More

We're sorry that you were disappointed and have asked our local Council to improve the driveway access for campervans. Work has started and will be completed as soon as their work schedules allow. The Campground is small, with basic, clean facilities. It is leased by the Otorohanga Kiwi House which is a "not-for-profit" organisation dedicated to the conservation of NZ... More

A great spot to call home for a few nights. Visited the awesome kiwi house and went caving. This makes a great base for all activities. The facilities were clean, could book online and the hosts were very friendly.

Hi We only booked for one night, but extended our stay to 5! had booked another site in Kawhia but got there and turned back to camp kiwi which was much nicer . Camp kiwi is small, quiet ( even on new years eve) has super friendly hosts - Carole and Peter. It is central to lots of activities -... More

We stayed at this camp ground in our little van for one night and were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The sites are relatively cheap compared to other grounds, hot showers are free and there are kitchen and laundry facilities. The campground itself is small so there's not too much noise at night (except for the Morepork Owl). Facilities were really... More

we stayed here for a few days in late January and found this site very good value for money. The ablutions blocks and kitchen were spotlessly clean and unlimited hot water for showers, bliss! All the essentials you need. No playground for kids, but a big sports field next door that they can run around on and the swimming pool... More

My husband and I are keen caravanners and spent ten days over Christmas and New Year at Camp Kiwi in Otorohanga. This is a small camp adjacent to the Otorohanga Domain and the Otorohanga Kiwi House and Bird Park. It was a nice spot to camp, has about 16 powered sites and about the same number of tent/unpowered sites. The... More

We caught the camping bug and this has been our second time camping this year with our young family of 5 children under 7years. A 4mnth, 21mnth, 4yr, 6yr and 7yr old along with a 7yr old friend also so we wanted to find somewhere that also fit our camping budget and this was it. We also discovered, alongside the... More
