Our hostess went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We asked for a recommendation for dinner and were pointed to the best local restaurant not far from the room. When I asked if there was a laundry in town, she offered to do a load for us for 5 dollars, dried and folded on our bed the... More

We enjoyed our one night stay here and wished it could have been longer! A good sized bedroom and bathroom, quiet and comfortable with plenty of hot drinks available. A very good breakfast with lots of local/home-made produce and plenty of choice, and a friendly and helpful host!

Very nice location a little bit of the road with large ensuite rooms and separate entrances. Nice charning host. Every day fully cooked breakfast with fresh country eggs from the own hens and homemade muffins. Excellent stuff. Location is close to the Waitomo caves. Julie provides good, useful advices for visits and restaurants in the aerea.

Good B&B with comfortable, clean room and friendly, laid back owner. It's about a 10 minute drive from the Waitamo caves.(loved the Epic Tour). Breakfast was very good with several choices of warm cooked dishes. We enjoyed playing pool in the lounge. Definately a good choice to stay in the surroundings of the Waitamo caves.

Julie is a great hostess - full of helpful info and tips and a great cook! She welcomed us with the most delicious chocolate cookies - melt in the middle. I can remember them now...I immediately took advantage of the sauna and hot tub (spa pool they call it) to make amends... The rooms are clean and comfortable and you... More

Large ensuite rooms with own entrance, very clean and comfortable. Great facilities in a communal room near the pool, and the deck was great for an evening drink. A warm welcome from our hosts, with home baked cakes and breakfasts to set you up for the day. Very pleased we stayed here, a great start to our trip. Would recommend... More

Redwood Lodge is a simple, yet far from basic, B&B. The bed was great, the shower warm, the room clean, the breakfast eggs fresh, the home-made chocolate cookie fantastic. Host Julie was very helpful in getting me to do the right tour in nearby Waitomo Caves. I arrived late and stayed only one night so my interactions with the hosts... More

Julie was a great host and was very knowledgeable of the area and various activities. A cooked breakfast is included with plenty of options and was yum. The rooms were lovely with great facilities (pool, hot tub, pool table, communal lounge etc). Even though the lodge had other people staying there it was still quiet and relaxing. A short drive... Julie is a wonderful host and a great cook. The breakfast is included in your lodging and it shouldn’t be missed. Your host is very friendly and can recommend local restaurants for you. The lodge is a little out of the way, and not exactly in Ototohanga, but very close to the Waitomo Glow Worm caves which makes it a... More
