We stayed at Abseil Inn last week after we toured the Waitomo Caves. We spent 10 days abroad, which included 6 different hotels. The Abseil Inn provided the most comfortable bed we stayed in. I asked for recommendations of which cave tour to take and they were "spot on" with the Spellbound Tour. Helen was a delight to talk with... More

When making a reservation over the phone with John Henderson, the owner, he withheld the actual details of his cancellation policy when I asked about it directly. During my conversation with John, I spoke with him about room availability, cancellation policies, times and distances in the area, and stated up front that my business plans could fluctuate this week and... When Celeste called John to make a reservation our cancellation policy was discussed. Celeste said that whilst she would be definitely coming to Waitomo Caves, she might have to shift the date by a few days. John advised that simply changing the date slightly would not be an issue at this time of year, and would not lead to a... More

We stayed for one night only but our hosts were very generous, providing a peanut butter sandwich, towels and toiletries for our black water rafting experience! Breakfast was delicious with more honey and spreads than we knew what to do with - we wanted to try everything but just didn't have time! With free tea and coffee, and an honesty... More

The Abseil Inn is in a beautiful spot on top of a hill. Our excellent hosts Helen and John provided great hospitality in their spotless, sunny B&B. Breakfast was a delight: after our choice of fruit, juices, eggs and bacon we were treated to a huge range of local honeys and toast. It was better than a hotel breakfast but... More

Stayed in the cave room. Helen is a wonderful host who obviously loves what she does and showed me around the different rooms, each with a unique flavour and artwork! The free coffee, tea and biscuits in a warm and welcoming lounge room was a nice touch and there is a well-stocked library. We felt right at home and the... More

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. We were doing the 7 hour epic cave tour just down the road, our travel agent recommended this spot and booked for us. The house is nice and roomy, our room was a decent size and I was surprised to find a jacuzzi hot tub in our bathroom with a separate... More

Don't let the driveway reviews put you off - it's well worth it. I only stayed one night but wish I was able to stay an extra night. Great spot, lovely views. A short stroll to the local village (unless it's raining) for dinner - listen to Helen's recommendations! Room was lovely and warm, fabulous large 2-person bath with candles... More

This small B&B has a lovely homely feel. We arrived late but we were met and shown around. The room was nice with a huge bathroom and powerful shower. It also had a jacuzzi bath with candles around for anyone who fancies a romantic soak. The breakfast/living room offered complimentary tea and coffee and DVDs. The views whilst eating breakfast... This was a lovely B&b in waitomo caves region. Helen was an interesting host with lots of interesting stories. Our room was beautiful with attached bathrooms and interesting decor. The approach road to hotel was at steep height and requires careful driving.
