I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend in April 2015, in a private room, as part of the Kiwi Experience. Our room was a good size, although it got very hot during the day and had no fan. Reception were really helpful and let us pre-order our pizza so that it was ready for when we got back... More

Kiwi Paka is more backpacker-style than romantic or trendy, but I wasn't disappointed by the rooms & service. We had a nice double bedroom in the backyard building, which gave us more intimity (which is important if you're a couple and don't wanna share your private moments with other backpackers). The rooms were comfortable and the hotel is located near... More

We arrived at the accommodation only to find a dingy room with freying towels and mouldy curtains. We had booked prior and notified them that we were travelling with an infant. There was no porta cot, and when we asked for one, it had no bedding. Definitely not family-friendly, and is very overpriced for the lack of facilities. Unfortunately I... More

Spent a night here with Haka tours in January 2015. Really very comfortable on suite room of good size. My shower initially had no hot water but this was quickly dealt with by the helpful staff. It is in a beautiful spot and so convenient for the Caves. The shared facilities were basic but clean. Recommend Curlys bar for good... More

We arrived after over 6 hours in the car. It was hard to find, and the GPS will send you 45 kms out of your way. I wanted to wash away the day, only to find the shower cold. We later found out the electricity had tripped and they forgot to check our block. The beds were so soft that... More

We only stayed one night, and I thought it was really lovely. Hidden away, good facilities and we had no problem with noise. We had some pizza at the pizzeria and it was delicious. Would definitely stay again.

On entering our room we counted 6 spiders near the doorway. We proceeded to put our luggage down and sit on our beds which were quite springy, and also had an abnormally small pillow on each of them. The room itself was quite stuffy, so we opened the windows - only to find a wasp nest on the balcony outside... More

Ordered food. After 40 minutes reminded them several times to various staff we were waiting on food. 2 hours after ordering they were watching our table to close! We then explained the situation again and they gave us food that we didnt order. Very poor service even for a hostel.

This is cheap back-packer style accommodation. We had the worst night's sleep we have ever had in a hotel. There was a loud party going on adjacent to our bedroom into the early hours of the morning. The curtains on our room did not close all of the way, and it let in bright light into our room. Tour busses... More

We stayed here one night in the "chalet" after the glowworm tour. I absolutely hated the room but for being so remote, hubby said it was sufficient. Paid for the internet card and couldn't get a signal in the room, had to use it in the "kitchen". Bed was hard and lumpy, which was okay. Just wished they had better... More
