We stayed one night in the Titanic Room on the ship. The kids absolutely loved it. I struggled with the damp/dusty smell and just wanted morning to come to get a breath of fresh air. One of the boys coughed for a good part of the night and ended up upstairs with us. Bed comfortable and the owners very friendly.... More

Thank you for an honest writing hence im replying ,as distorted and false reports i can not be bothered with as they are life / time wasters . Yes as our motels are outside the norm , and some are recyled pieces of history, they wont suit everyone . Yes the ship has its own shippy smell as does the... More

Very much enjoyed our stay in the Captains Cabin aboard the Waitanic. Staff are friendly and helpful. Even though it was cold and miserable outside the rooms were cosy and well appointed. The kids loved it, although people who are not good with stairs might struggle with the 3 story accommodation (the main bathroom is way down in the belly... More

Booked months in advance. Phoned two days out from our due date to double check the booking was all smooth sailing still. Was told to be checked in by 5pm or phone to organise the key. Arrived at 4.45 to be told our room was not ready. It had alterations being done. After much fluffing around and 3/4 hour later... More

We stayed in the Plane Cockpit room for 1 night while visiting the Waitomo Caves. Checkin is slightly complicated in that it appears staff are often not at reception but are elsewhere on the property- there is a number on the door to ring for assistance. The room is definitely a bit of fun for a novelty stay. The unit... More

I stayed here with a friend for one night in November, and had a good experience. Booking was very easy, and they were willing to accommodate our late arrival. We stayed in the Hobbit house. The reviews are right- it looks like a Hobbit house from the outside (especially loved the window!) and the inside is more like a regular... More

My son and I kept talking about this place after we stayed there. It was one of the high lights of our trip! Why stay in a regular hotel room when you can make your stay a super memorable one!!! We took the ship room at the end with a wonderful deck! It was so clean and fresh! We walked... More

This accommodation is very unique, but maybe not good for everyone. It most likely would be best for families with kids who would probably enjoy the facilities more than we did. We stayed in the ship. For a couple in our late 60's the bathroom downstairs was not so enjoyable. If not for the novelty factor the room would have... More

Arriving late on the day due to an impulsive decision, we were greeted by Mary-Lou full of smiles and warmth at the front desk in the office. We headed to our "cabin" in their Waitanic vessel with expectant heart after given the key. "Wow! It's a ship, a real ship" cheered the kids immediately. We told the kids of the... More

If you are planning to visit Waitomo caves and going to spend a night in the area - go for a Woodlyn park unique accommodation. We have chosen a plane - Cockpit unit. There are 2 large beds - one in a cockpit itself and one downstairs so you can stay there with 1-2 kids. Our teenage son stayed upstairs... More

We stayed on the ship on the farm and for us it was a highlight of the trip. Of course it's not 5-star but it was clean and convenient and well laid-out. It was also lovely to sleep with open windows and hear the sounds of the farm during the night and in the morning. The owner is quite a... More
