Stayed in one of the Hobbit rooms. The accommodations were roomy and the atmosphere enchanting. Great views, quiet, and easy access to Waitomo Caves. We had a lovely time and if we have a chance will stay there again.

Hobbit Rooms: Perfect if you're looking for somewhere different to stay. Comfy rooms, nice quiet location, magical experience, great friendly service, plenty of room for families. Must try once if are a fan of Lord of the Rings.

I was booked to stay in the train hotel for 1 night. In all honesty, this is my first trip to New Zealand and I was really blown away but this "magical experience"... My tour agent booked the hotel room for me as I had no idea where to stay. Woodlyn Park is very near the Waitomo Gloworm Caves. There... More

Your letter deserves to be corrected so people are not mislead by your comments. -Fact all our Motels have driveways NOT pathways as you say, which are the same width as the standard piece of road on which you drove to Waitomo. The units all have car parks - yours I have measured is SIX meters wide - a vehicle... More

By far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The Hobbit Hotel is the best expireince on a Middle Earth Adventure areound New Zealand. These are by far the best hotels available in the area. They are a little more expensive but well worth is. Both of the Hobbit Hole Hotels can sleep up to 6 people and are... More

We stayed there last night and we booked for train apartment, and we loved the place not very far from glowworm caves. Nice and tidy units with very comfy beds. Will visit again for sure. If you going to see glowworm caves u must experience this unique place as well.

Stayed in the hobbit hole with a look at the train & boat (travelled as 3 couples). Never got to look at the plane but of the 3 rooms available to the 3 couples the hobbit was the biggest room with plenty of space. Very quiet & peaceful.

We stayed at the train for one night, and it was a pretty cool experience! The rooms are not practical, but I guess that does not come as a surprise, as it is the experience of sleeping on a train/boat/plane/hobbit hole that makes this hotel so unique! The bed was comfortable, and the lady at the reception was very friendly... More

Well if you like hobbits you have to stay here. Don't expect luxury - it's great and quirky and functional. I have to say the donkey and the pig which appeared on the roof in the morning just added to the quirkiness. Easy to get to the village to access bars and restaurants / cafes - Fun!!!

We choose to stay at the Hobbit Hotel at Woodlyn Park during our trip to New Zealand. We had a fantastic time , a great place to stay to be away from the crowds of tourists. This hotel was a little more expensive than your usual hotel but it was worth it for the hobbit experience, nature, peace and quiet.... More
