The Waitomo Farmstay & Gardens is a family run business on a small farm just a couple of hundred meters from the intersection of Route 3 and Route 37 in Waitomo. Watch for the small signs on the right hand side of the road just beyond where you make the turn onto Route 37. Route 37 hosts all the Waitomo... More

Stayed for 5 nights with Narita over Christmas and we had cottage #2 to ourselves. It was a fantastic place with nice views all around. Stood in for Narita on Christmas Day and fed the goats, calves and sheep which was great fun! Peanut(the goat) was super friendly and would come up to you for pats. In terms of the... More

Narita was a really lovely host and the farm and the cottages have been nicely maintained by her and her family. The morning walk with Narita to see the animals was also highly recommended. It is also well located and is only a short drive from the cave and several eateries. Nothing luxurious (as expected for a farmstay) but it... More

We enjoyed our stay at this farm. It was authentic, cozy, well equipped and the view was beautiful. It was comfortable and very clean (albeit basic/rustic as you'd expect in a farm cottage). Great location for visiting the caves and Huhu, the amazing local restaurant.

My family with two babies had stayed in the Waitomo Farmstay in Nov 2014. When we arrived in the evening, we were warmly greeted by Narita, who was very helpful and accommodating. We really appreciate the the personalized welcome note on the door. The cottage we stayed in is very spacious and tidy. In the morning, we were able to... More

There were a variety of animals - sheep, pigs, cows, rooster, cats. Narita was kind to offer the children a chance to bottle-feed the sheep and goats. It's time to upgrade the facilities in the unit. Real 'antiques'. Clean place.

Our stay at the Waitomo Farms house truck was unique as it was affordable. We loved the views on the farm and the house truck had lots of character! Booking was extremely simple and we loved the farm tour in the morning. I got to hug a little lamb! (and then was knocked over by a goat). The owner was... More

We stayed in the big cottage in September 2014 and had a great time. The kids loved feeding the lambs, petting the goats, feeding the calves, collecting the eggs and looking at the newborn piglets. Just what we were looking for.

The family had a wonderful time here. The boys saw all the animals being fed and being spring lots of babies. They helped catch some sheep that had escaped! It has a wonderful view over the farm. Lots of space. It is an old farmhouse so don't expect modern luxury but it has great character and a warm homey feel... More

I stayed in "The Truck" for one night & was really surprised. A lovely & rustic accommodation and best value. If you are looking for a very special and nice place to stay surrounded by friendly people you should totally come to Waitomo Farmstay. I even got the chance to feed little Coco (a cute & cheeky little lamb) by... More
