I stayed in "The Truck" for one night & was really surprised. A lovely & rustic accommodation and best value. If you are looking for a very special and nice place to stay surrounded by friendly people you should totally come to Waitomo Farmstay. I even got the chance to feed little Coco (a cute & cheeky little lamb) by... More

We kinda happened upon this place as we didn't really have anywhere to stay, and the place we have stayed before at Waitomo was full, but I was blown away by how cool this place was! We stayed in Cottage #2 and it was huge and very affordable. The views from the front porch was so lovely, it was a... More

We stayed in cottage 2 it was rustic but perfectly set up for families with lots of old furniture that reminded me of my great aunts house in the country. It's certainly not 5 star but for summer accommodation for families with young kids this is a good option and Narita is a delight.

I arrived at Waitomo without lodging arrangements and happened upon Waitomo Farmstay -- I could not have been happier! Not only did I have my own cottage, the price matched (or beat) hostels I found in the area, and the farm and garden were wonderful to wander through. I stayed in Cottage 2, which has an incredibly comfortable bed, a... More

We booked at the last minute to take our 2 children ( 7 & 9 years) so didn't have time to form any expectations. We were pleasantly surprised to arrive at our lovely homely cottage all with home baking waiting on the table for our arrival! The hostess was very hospitable and warm & friendly. She took the family on... More

We stayed here for our son's 9th birthday with 2 adults and 6 kids. We can say enough how nice the hosts were, how cozy and roomy the cottage was, and even had milk, tea and all the basics for our stay. We were taken on a tour of the farm in the morning and fed the animals, it took... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the caves. There were 7 of us in our group, 3 adults and 4 children but we were easily accommodated in the 3 bedrooms, each of which had a useful combination of beds. The 2 toilets and 2 showers were also very helpful for a big group. This is a great option... More

We rented the house as we were travelling with our 3 kids (all boys) down to New Plymouth. The house was perfect as it was cosy clean and comfortable. It is very low key so it's easy with kids. It was all very casual and we only met the owners once on arrival. I would have been disappointed if we... More

My husband and I have never experienced a farmstay on our vacations before so we wanted to give it a try. We booked our farmstay with Waitomo Farmstay, formerly called Buds B&B, and we loved our stay! If you are allergic to animals or don't like animals, this is not the place for you. If you have to stay at... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens was started in October 2011 when we recognised that not everyone looking for Waitomo accommodation was a thrill seeker! Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens is a family owned business, and has something for everyone. Waitomo Farmstay is the perfect spot to make your base during your stay in the King Country. Our large and comfortable rustic cottage has lovely country views, and the farm tour we offer our guests is sure to entertain. Because we are are situated only a short car ride from the world famous Glow Worm Caves, and the townships of Otorohanga and Te Kuiti it makes sense that you should book your stay at our Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens today! If you are just passing through the King Country be sure to come and see our Gardens which are currently under development. We are slowly gathering a collection of vintage farm machinery and other items of interest which we plan to showcase amongst the trees and flowers of our gardens. We gladly accept any suggestions, donations, or voluntary work - and are more than happy to acknowledge this within the gardens. We cater to all ages - so why not pack a picnic and take some time to meet our friendly animals and take a gentle stroll around our gardens. We look forward to meeting you! ... more   less
