We stayed two nights. Two adults, and our two adult children. Mid-winter. Genuine greetings, and a warm fire on arrival. Warm fire again on our return late on the second day. Our breakfast supplies were fine, and our in-house evening meal on the second night was excellent. Good value, friendly, and peaceful. Highly recommended. We are keen to stay again.

Not too far from hobart on the way to the lake St clair. Hosts are very friendly. Breakfasts are just amazing. The house is convivial, quiet everything you need too relax. Wood fire are welcome it's so appreciable. Some wallabies around the house. I saw one in the garden. And friendly cat. Thank you for everything

The location is stunning and the host really friendly! Accommodation is very well equipped, we were sorry to leave! Owner helped us with a salad to go with our barbecue and offered free port for the cold evening! Fast internet for free as well; top stay!

Had to book this on way back from Strahan as Hobart was full! So glad we did as we got to see Mt. Field Nat. Park a bit. Cottage was 2 bedroom, relaxed, private and with the nicest hosts, they brought delic and fresh dinner meals via large menu (extra, but well worth it). We don't really like B&B's but... More

We picked this B&B because of its proximity to Mt Field National Park but it turned out to be so much more than convenience. Beautifully restored comfortable cottages, beautiful cottage gardens, and superb food cooked by the hosts. The grounds are extensive, and a delight to walk around either to look for birds or just relax in the peaceful surrounds.

We came by this place accidently, on our way to Mount Field. We were so lucky finding this! Spacious accommodation, a real "home" and a lovely garden. We were sorry we could only stay for one night, it is worth staying longer. Also the dinner provided by Peter &Sue was wonderful

We chose Hamlet Downs for its proximity to Mt Field National Park and also to break our journey between Hobart and Strahan. Peter and Sue cater superbly for the needs of travellers. Our unit offered us self-catering or delicious meals delivered to our enclosed verandah. The accommodation is spacious, clean, comfortable and warm. It is wonderfully peaceful with views over... Sue & Peter made me fee so welcome. The suite was perfect & the icing on the cake was the sun room/Conservatory. Dinner was available and reasonably priced. The king size bed was luxury all the way. Will recommend every time.

We stayed here for two nights and did not want to leave. We were in the at self-catering Hamlet unit but decided to treat ourselves to the dinner, bed and breakfast package. The food was superb and we also enjoyed having a wood fire stove in our unit. This is probably the best accommodation and food experience we have had... More

A wonderfully welcoming place with superb meals with a really comfortable bed. It is very clean and every detail has been caters for the weary traveller. Wish we had booked in for more than one night as it is such a great place and very central to exploring the Styx River tall Trees and the gfmany other natural attractions in... More
