A glorious spot. Lovely surrounds, great food, in a spectacular part of the world with native wildlife everywhere. A few little things to frustrate - they're not overly generous with wifi passwords and the gym was filthy - but all in all, a great weekend getaway.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with 2 adult children, 2 rooms that were connecting. The rooms are spacious, the location peaceful. We were able to self cater but some of the kitchen accessories need some more thought; a toaster and a frypan would have helped. We had a special event dinner in Legends Grill. Food was delicious... Chateau Elan provided the perfect stay for us in the Hunter Valley. Rooms were spacious and provided for all your needs including lovely bathroom amenities range. Centrally located close to everywhere you need to go in the Hunter. We had lovely views of the gold course and this provided for a nice relaxing, peaceful, quiet environment. Great to also enjoy... We were lucky enough to stay here with clients - we ladies loved the spa/facials and the guys played golf and enjoyed the challenging course. We loved our rooms in the main building (each with a different theme and related books on the shelves) and wished we could have stayed longer. The restaurant food was very nice but not exceptional,... More

We stayed at Chateau Elan in a two bedroom apartment for four nights in October. The apartment was lovely, with good kitchen, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and an outdoor verandah with view over the golf course. The hotel spa is very well appointed with a great outdoor jacuzzi, one hot and one cold. The massage was wonderful. The only negative... More

For the price we paid (just under $500 a night, inc. breakfast), I expected exceptional. The spa villa is very good. Its large, comfortable and quiet. The golf course view from the upstairs balcony is nice. However, the shared balcony made me feel uncomfortable. There isn’t any divider between our villa and the next door villa. Potentially your neighbour can... More

Great golf course with immaculate grounds and kangaroos everywhere. Really professional staff, yummy food. There were a couple of weddings while we were there and it looks like a great venue for them. Wish I had more time to check out the local wines, but I will be back.

Stayed at the Chateau midweek and really loved it. Staff are very professional and friendly. We stayed in a one bedroom villa with a rollaway. $50 extra ; it was worth every cent. Highly recommend the restaurant next door for great food, drink and service. The spa and toiletries were divine. It had a huge fridge and washing machine. Cool... More

We came to Chateau Elan for high tea on a Friday afternoon. The food itself was delicious, and beautifully presented. Be aware though that Cafe Elan is in the hotel lobby, meaning that hotel staff members may be having casual conversations and business meetings at tables next to you. Also be aware that staff top up sparkling wine, without advising,... More

We had booked three rooms for two nights. On check in the girl on reception was dreadful, no smile, very dismissive and not helpful ,it took ages to do the check in as each of the guests had to have their photo ID checked despite the money for the whole stay had been taking at time of booking in July...
